Registration
To ensure an appropriate evaluator-to-presenter ratio, we are modifying our virtual presenter registration process. We will open Evaluator registrations in April. Presenter registration will be contingent an the number of evaluators already registered. Starting on Monday April 8, 2024, and continuing every Monday through April 29, 2024, at 6 PM, we will release presenter slots for youth participants based on the number of evaluators we have registered. Registration for presenter slots will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
Virtual State Presentations Procedures
After qualifying with a blue or gold award at a County 4-H Presentations event (either in-person or virtual), youth may register to present at Regional Presentation Day during a 2-hour time block offered between May 8-May 15, 2024. Time blocks are first come, first-served.
Procedures
After registering, youth presenters will receive a confirmation for their time block with a Zoom meeting link.
During their scheduled time block, youth log on with a computer/tablet or smart phone and present in front of a camera/webcam. You may use poster boards and props (if the category permits these) or use digital slides by “sharing my screen.” All requirements from the 4-H Presentation Manual - Revised January 2021 apply.
Evaluators will enter their scores and comments digitally, which will be sent to the “tally room.” Evaluation forms will be emailed to presenters along with their placing.
Results will be announced at the Virtual Award Ceremony on May 26. Award certificates and pins will be sent to County Offices when State Presentation Awards are mailed out before June 30.

Rules
- The State 4-H Presentation Events follows the current 4-H Presentation Manual - Revised January 2021 and the Presentation Manual Addendum.
- Presentations are divided according to category and age group. The oldest member of the team determines the age category.
- Junior (9-10 years old)
- Intermediate (11-13 years old)
- Senior (14-19 years old).
- Presenters must give the same presentation in the same category in which they qualified at a County and Regional Presentation Event.
- Presenters in a category may also compete in the Share the 4-H Fun Skit category.
- No substitutions in presenters are allowed. Presentations must be given by the same individuals who qualified at a regional event.
- If a team presentation qualified, then it must be presented by the same team members at the State 4-H Presentation Day.
- All qualifying team members must be present to give the team presentation. If one team member cannot attend, that team is disqualified from the team presentation.
- The only exception is the Share the 4-H Fun skit category, where a team can still present even if they are missing individuals (but they cannot add new individuals).

Helpful Zoom tips
ZORMS (Zoom meeting norms and good practices)
- Zoom allows for connection through computer/table where audio (mic & speakers) are connected to the computer. Zoom also allows for hybrid connections where the computer/table captures video but one can call-in over traditional phone network for audio. This is useful in situations where the Internet speed/bandwidth is slow; users can have higher quality sound by calling in on a phone but continue to see and share video through their computer/tablet.
- Those who call in through their phone need to press *6 to mute or unmute.
- Those connecting via computer/tablet need to know how to adjust their mic and sound. There are two sets of controls for mic and speaker settings: (1) those in the computer setting itself, and (2) another setting in the zoom meeting room. The zoom meeting room settings are found in the lower left corner of the screen. Make sure the correct microphone and speaker are selected for your device.
