Hannah Fisher, PhD
Duke University School of Medicine

Dr. Hannah Fisher is a clinical health psychologist and postdoctoral fellow in the Pain Prevention and Treatment Research Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Duke University School of Medicine. She received her PhD in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Miami and completed her clinical residency training at the Duke Cancer Institute. Her research and clinical work centers on behavioral symptom management for survivors of cancer. In particular, she is focused on developing, testing, and delivering behavioral interventions that address sleep disturbance and related symptoms such as fatigue, distress, and pain reported by patients with hematologic cancer. Dr. Fisher has received funding from the National Cancer Institute to develop and test a mindfulness-based sleep and symptom management intervention for patients with hematologic cancer who have completed inpatient treatment. This study is currently in its final year of funding, and as a next step, Dr. Fisher hopes to extend this intervention to the inpatient setting.
