Q: What are the Optometric Management Symposium show dates?
A: Education Dates: November 30th - December 3rd
Exhibit Hall Dates: November 30th - December 2nd
Q: Who can attend the Optometric Management Symposium (OMS)?
A: OMS is open to all eye care professionals seeking continuing education—optometrists, opticians, and lens fitters—and their support staff.
Q: Can I register on-site?
A: Yes, we will be accepting registration on-site. We strongly encourage you to register well in advance to take advantage of the best pricing, as fees increase as the event date approaches.
Q: How many CE credits are being offered?
A: There are 48 total CE hours available at OMS, where you can earn a total of 26 CE hours. There are a total of 26 Clinical Management, 5 Specialty Lenses, 13 Practice Management, 4 Ethics/Jurisprudence CE hours. You can find the complete agenda here.
Q: Are all courses COPE, ABO-NCLE, FL Board of Optometry/Opticianry approved?
A: We are currently working on submitting each course for COPE and FL Board approvals. We will NOT be offering NCLE or ABO credits this year. We will continue to update the course descriptions with an approval indication and tracker numbers throughout this process.
Q: Which courses are designated as Comprehensive Eye Exam (CEE), or Transcript Quality (TQ)?
A: On the agenda page, CEE-approved courses are indicated by parenthetical designation following the course title.
Q: How many Practice Management CE hours does my state board allowed?
A: You can look up your state CE requirements here.
Q: How do I get verification of CE credit for my attendance?
A: Every year, we aim to deploy individual CE Certificates to all of our attendees reflecting the courses and credit hours they each attended within two weeks of the conclusion of the conference. The official document is approved by the various crediting bodies and lists all the courses for which you were scanned, including course titles, instructors' names, number of credits awarded and approval numbers for COPE and the Florida Board of Optometry/Opticianry. We appreciate your patience and understanding that our team must process upwards of 400 attendees' credits and that this process takes some time post-event.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Business or business casual attire is appropriate for all workshop events. Since meeting room temperatures tend to be cool, we recommend that you bring a sweater or jacket with you during the day.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please submit your cancellation and refund request to Laura Shepherd, and state your reasoning for canceling. Refunds requested on or before September 30, 2023 will receive a full refund minus a $100 administrative fee. Requests received after September 30, 2023 will not receive a refund.
