John Renshaw, MD

Received his undergraduate degree from Washington State University, graduating summa cum laude in 1996. Prior to his undergraduate studies, he served four years active duty in the U.S. Army, serving as a Russian voice interceptor in the Second Armored Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston receiving his medical doctorate in 2002.

He served an additional 16 years as a physician in the United States Air Force. While in the Air Force, Dr. Renshaw served as the Medical Director of Bone Marrow Transplant Services at Wilford Hall Medical Center and San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). He also served as the Training Program Director for the largest medical oncology fellowship program in the Department of Defense.

Dr. Renshaw was deployed twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During this time, he served as an intensivist in the intensive care unit at Bagram Air Base, the largest joint operations theater hospital in Afghanistan where he cared for numerous patients with severe illnesses and combat-related injuries. Prior to retiring from the military, he reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Stephanie D. Rowan, PhD(c), MSN, RN

Stephanie D. Rowan, PhD(c), MSN, RN, is a 2-time cancer survivor and retired from the U.S. Air Force, Nurse Corps, as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2020, after 24 years of service, most recentlyas the Immediate Past Chief Nursing Officer, for the149th Medical Group, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland.  She is now a PhD candidate in the UT Health San Antonio, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Translational Science Program and the Project Manager for the Mays Cancer Center's "Avanzado Caminos\Leading Pathways Hispanic\Latino Cancer Survivorship Study".  As a research nurse with the UT Health Institute of Health Promotions Research, she advocates for improving the health-related quality of life for all cancer survivors.
