The Administrator Leadership Program is an exceptional opportunity to immerse yourself in a program devoted to enhancing your leadership capabilities, expanding your professional knowledge, learning new skills and building professional relationships.

Ministry Recognition

The AdvantAge Ontario Administrator Leadership Program meets the requirements for administrators of 100 hours of instruction time in long term care home administration/management under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.

Verifiable Digital Credential

Participants who successfully complete the Administrator Leadership Program will receive a digital credential. The credential can be placed on social media networks and can be easily verified by a third party, such as an employer or ministry inspector.

Eligibility & Requirements

Who Should Take This Program?

This course is geared to individuals currently in senior management who are aspiring to an administrator position or looking to build on their leadership skills. Experienced administrators can also benefit from networking, hearing new leading-edge information and by having the opportunity to fine-tune leadership skills.

Education

Participants must hold a post-secondary degree from a program that is a minimum of three years in duration, or a post-secondary diploma in health or social services from a program that is a minimum of two years in duration.


Work Experience

Participants must have at least three years of work experience in a managerial or supervisory role.


Exceptions

Exceptions to the eligibility criteria for the Administrator Leadership Program may be granted at the discretion of AdvantAge Ontario. For full details on administrator requirements under the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, see sections 249 (3)(4) and (5) of Ont. Reg 246/22.

Program Requirements

To successfully complete the program and receive a certificate, participants must finish all pre-course assignments, view all on-demand recordings, take part in all sessions, complete all surveys and achieve a passing grade on a written Case Study assignment.

The Case Study involves the development of a business plan that focuses on key topics covered in the program. An overview and guidelines on the case study assignment will be provided.

Fees

AdvantAge Ontario Member: $3,295

Non-Member: $4,020

Course fees include in-person or live online training, 15 hours of on-demand video learning modules, and electronic copies of all course materials provided in advance of the program. In-person attendees receive breakfast and lunch and have the option to add hotel accommodations to their registration package upon request. Note that AdvantAge Ontario Personal Members do not qualify for the member rate. 

FAQ & Terms

 

How will I know if I've been accepted to the program?  All applications are reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited and applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Should you not be accepted to the program, any monies paid will be refunded. Enrolled applicants will receive a detailed confirmation package along with pre-course assignment material.
What if I have special requirements?  If you have any special requirements, please indicate this on the registration form. You will be contacted to discuss your needs.

 

What is the cancellation policy? 

We understand that you may be hesitant to commit to am education program given the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and the ongoing global pandemic. To address these concerns, we have temporarily amended our cancellation policy so that registration is risk-free.

AdvantAge Ontario will not charge a cancellation fee if a registrant decides to cancel attendance based on concerns around health or COVID-19. AdvantAge Ontario will provide a credit to the registrant should they cancel for this reason, to be used for a specified Administrator Leadership Program only. If AdvantAge Ontario must cancel an event, a full refund will be issued to registrants.

 

Payment of course fees and non-refundable deposit  All course fees must be paid in full when you register. After you have received confirmation of your offer of admission to the program, you will be required to submit full course fees via Visa/MasterCard. Please note a $500 non-refundable course deposit is included in the course fees. Deposits are non-refundable and may not be transferred to another program.

 

Consent to use of photographic images and video Registration and attendance at AdvantAge Ontario educational events constitute an agreement by the registrant to AdvantAge Ontario's use and distribution of the registrant's image in photographs
