Mary Helen Davis, M.D., D.L.F.A.P.A.

Mary Helen Davis M.D., D.L.F.A.P.A has been board certified in Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She currently is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and has worked for the past 16 years in Supportive Oncology. Delivering integrated health care in  settings with medical, surgical and radiation oncologists. She has founded Collaborative Psychosocial Oncology Consults PLLC providing consultation and program development strategies for community cancer centers. Currently contracted through Baptist Hospital of Louisville, she has assisted in the development of an integrated psychosocial oncology program, a geriatric functional assessment for older adults undergoing chemotherapy, Cancer University, a curriculum for patients and caregivers on understanding the cancer experience and journey as well as numerous other programs to meet the needs of cancer patients and providers.

She has served in numerous leadership roles on both the state and national level.  She is currently immediate past President of the Southern Psychiatric Association. She chaired the KASPER advisory council (The Prescription Drug Monitoring program for the state) and is past chair of the Policy and Advocacy Committee for the GLMS. She was named as a Community Connector in the KMA Leadership Program in 2015.  

Crystal Labbato, DNP, APRN, AGCNS-BC, AOCNS, NCTTP

Dr. Crystal Labbato is a board-certified adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist, advanced oncology clinical nurse specialist, and certified tobacco treatment specialist. Dr Labbato currently serves as the Survivorship Program Coordinator for Baptist Health Louisville and LaGrange hospitals in Kentucky. Dr. Labbato provides trauma informed, physical and psychosocial supportive care and referrals to people and families living through a cancer experience throughout the full cancer care continuum (prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, recovery and palliation). In 2019, Dr. Labbato completed a pilot project incorporating comprehensive geriatric assessments into the care of patients with a thoracic cancer diagnosis that is in the process of being expanded to all medical oncology patients. In addition, Dr. Labbato regularly coordinates and co-facilitates community education events on advance care planning, smoking and tobacco cessation, late and long term effects of cancer and cancer treatments, and other cancer survivorship issues.

Dr. Labbato received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and subsequently completed an accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Northern Kentucky University. Dr. Labbato’s early clinical practice was spent in acute care, phase one oncology clinical trials, and hospice nursing in the home and inpatient settings before ultimately earning a Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Kentucky and assuming their present role.  Dr. Labbato has completed additional training in trauma-informed sensitive practice, assessment and supportive care of the older adult with a cancer diagnosis (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center), primary palliative care for oncology APRNs (End of Life Nursing Education Consortium), and competent care of LGBTQIA+ persons (University of Louisville).

Dr Labbato’s work also includes a photography practice and they have had works selected for inclusion in exhibitions at the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio and the Museum Angewandte Kunst, in Frankfurt Germany.

Sarah Everette, MSSW, CSW

Sarah Everette has worked at Baptist Health Louisville for 17 years, starting as a medical social worker providing case management and discharge planning to patients on several different units throughout the hospital.  During the last 11 years she has primarily worked as an Oncology Social Worker for Baptist Health Louisville’s Oncology Program providing advocacy, resources and emotional support for patients and families affected by cancer.

She has had the pleasure to teach as an adjunct professor at the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work teaching mastered level students from 2014-2020.

She is a member of the Association of Oncology Social Workers ( AOSW) and also serves on the Ethics Committee at Baptist Health Louisville for 11 years.

Sarah serves as one of Baptist Health Louisville Team Captains for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Light the Night Walk. 

Elizabeth Riddle, RD, LD

Elizabeth Riddle is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at the Norton Cancer Institute, licensed in the state of Kentucky and Indiana. She helps patients with varying types of cancer manage their nutrition before, during, and after cancer treatment. Elizabeth has been with Norton since June of 2020. Before joining the Norton Healthcare team she was a floating dietitian with UL Health for 5 years and cared for many types of patients in the hospital setting. Her specialties include head/neck, brain, lung, esophageal, pancreatic, and breast cancer.

In her spare time Elizabeth enjoys traveling and spending quality time with friends and family. 

Karen Allen, BSN, RN, OCN 

Karen Allen is an oncology patient navigator with Norton Cancer Institute Brownsboro.  As a member of the health care team she helps individuals identify and overcome barriers to quality care including access to health care, education, health literacy and resources.

She lives in Crestwood KY with her husband, John and cat, Pepper. They will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first date Dec 10, 1972, this evening! She enjoys traveling, and art.
