UC Berkeley

DISCOVER. CONNECT. ENGAGE. REFLECT. This is what we encourage UC Berkeley students to do during their four years on campus. At Berkeley, we challenge the status quo and make discoveries that reshape the future. Our students develop their own voices and stand up for what they believe. They find community in a place where diversity of all kinds is celebrated, nurtured, and valued. For more than 150 years, students have been coming to Berkeley to stand up, stand out, and make this place their own. Whether your students aspire to be a biologist or a poet, an entrepreneur or a dancer, here they’ll find a world of opportunities to help them grow and transform.

UC Berkeley seeks applications from students from all over the world to  be a part of our amazing community. We know that choosing college is a huge decision,  so we want to make sure students are prepared for the application process. The admissions review process goes beyond meeting the minimum requirements. Berkeley uses a holistic review process to assess applications and to build a strong and diverse class.

UC Davis

UC Davis is one of the most prestigious public universities in the world for a reason. The university and the amazing college town of Davis are designed to help students grow beyond even their own expectations. UC Davis combines all the prestige of a top tier public research university with an uncommonly collaborative academic culture. Plus we have an exciting, safe and friendly community. UC Davis ranks second among affordable elite colleges, and the City of Davis offers a low cost of living and numerous discounts to students to make the student experience accessible to all. Our talented students are more likely to collaborate than compete. This friendly approach has led to an incredibly rich campus community that turns big ideas into real solutions.

College fit is about more than GPA, and our admission selection process is about more than that, too. We admit well-rounded students who show they are prepared for university life through a combination of academic excellence, leadership, extracurricular activities and a demonstrated ability to overcome challenges and think outside the box. During the selection process, UC Davis conducts a comprehensive review of every freshman application to ensure each applicant is assessed thoroughly and fairly.

UC Irvine

We like different - Single-mindedly pursuing diversity of thought, experience, and opportunity in all we do.

At UCI, we believe in the infinitely curious. Our students are the tinkerers, the dreamers, and the courageous of thought. They are inspiring, motivated, and they care about the world around them. And they aren’t afraid to go where others won’t.

No other college or university nurtures fearless, independent thought like UCI. We take students beyond the classroom to see possibility where others only see the impossible.

One of the top 10 public universities in the country, UCI offers more than 85 undergraduate degree programs and the opportunity to work alongside internationally renowned faculty producing groundbreaking work. In fact, by the time students enter their senior year, 73 percent of their graduating class will have participated in undergraduate research.

UCLA

Driven to create a brighter future for ourselves, our families and the world at large, we arm ourselves with knowledge and compassion. We collaborate, innovate and imagine. And we let our hearts and minds lead the way as we chart a new path forward. Our rigorous academic curriculum and extensive research opportunities form the foundation your students need to turn their dreams into action. Study under world-renowned faculty and explore beyond the boundaries of majors with our interdisciplinary approach to learning. Conduct meaningful research alongside world-class scholars as students add depth to their learning experience and challenge themselves to think in new ways.

There are a wide variety of factors we consider when admitting our newest Bruins each year. We seek students whose personal stories and rich experience bring the type of perspective and leadership that we value. We seek intellectually curious students who have grown through their academic work and are ready to both contribute to and benefit from the UCLA community. Ours is a highly selective admission process but know that we read every application closely and seek to know our applicants as best we can before making our final admission decisions. We are often asked what the difference is between meeting the UC admission requirements and being “competitive.” Our most successful applicants go beyond minimum requirements and seek to challenge themselves to grow both in and outside of the classroom.

UC Merced

Besides being a world-class public research university with the feel of a small, private campus, there are a lot of reasons why people are increasingly interested in becoming Bobcats. UC Merced is a special place where intelligent, spirited people gather to learn, grow and reach their highest potentials. Bobcats are people who care about each others' success and ability to thrive, and care about the world around them.

UC Merced is a place where nature touches every part of the campus. It's an extremely green place that is, by design, transforming the region economically, academically and environmentally. It's a place where students at all levels have opportunities to stretch themselves intellectually and experientially, in close concert with faculty members who are stars and rising stars in their fields.

Just like at other UC campuses, academic research is a critical part of UC Merced's mission. The process of discovery provides our students with a deeper understanding of the world and its cultural, social, natural and engineered systems, but more, it solves issues and challenges that are critical to the growth, health and overall well-being of the region, the state, nation and world.

Our researchers are conducting groundbreaking work in diabetes, cancer, bacterial diseases, antibiotic resistance, solar energy, climate change, water quality and availability, ecology, engineering, archeology, cultures, history, political science, computer science and much, much more.

UC Riverside

UC Riverside is on the rise. A member of the world’s most prestigious public university system, ours is an institution powered by an entrepreneurial spirit, a record of innovation and results, and a commitment to excellence and collaboration across disciplines. UC Riverside’s diverse, inclusive, and globally focused community is creating a new model for what a great public research university can achieve.

With more than 26,000 students and 1,100 faculty — including two Nobel Prize winners and 13 members of the National Academies of Science and Medicine — we are pioneering research with economic, scientific, and social impact on the real-world challenges we face in California and beyond. The reach and importance of our work is gaining in prominence. We rank among the top 1 percent of universities worldwide by the Center for World University Rankings and one of the nation’s top 12 public universities by Forbes.

Unique students are the heart of UC Riverside. We invite — we need — your students' individuality, your passion, and voice. Student success is our top priority. Ease into college life with help from faculty, peer mentors, and first-year learning communities. At UCR, our strength lies in our diversity. Your students will find active and energized groups ready to share, support, and empower their passion for issues affecting our communities and the world. For the annual Highlander Day of Service, hundreds of UCR students, alumni, parents, and friends join forces to participate in over 25 community service events across California.

UC San Diego

At the University of California San Diego, we prefer the path less traveled. And it has led us to remarkable new ways of seeing and making a difference in the world. Recognized as one of the top 15 research universities worldwide, our culture of collaboration sparks discoveries that advance society and drive economic impact. Everything we do is dedicated to ensuring our students have the opportunity to become changemakers, equipped with the multidisciplinary tools needed to accelerate answers to our world’s most pressing issues.

The College system is one of the things that makes UC San Diego special. Our University is just one of the few in the United States that organizes the undergraduate experience in this way. So why is UC San Diego organized this way? To give students the chance to thrive in a smaller neighborhood and more easily connect to people, resources, and opportunities. It’s almost like being able to customize their college experience. Think of UC San Diego as a living and learning community made up of different neighborhoods. Each undergraduate college is a neighborhood. They each have their own philosophy and general education requirements. Additionally, each undergraduate college has its own residence facilities, staff, and traditions. Every college provides access to personalized academic advising, support services, and opportunities to get involved.

But no matter how you define us, we are above all Gauchos — diverse in our pursuits, yet connected in our collective drive toward excellence.

Our campus’ undergraduate focus means students have the opportunity to be active members of this research community—and it’s not all lab coats and test tubes. Our students also push creative boundaries, explore the nature of humanity, and discuss solutions for society’s challenges. Balance defines UCSB’s culture. Students here work hard in the classroom, but they also make time for their personal wellness. Some take long walks on the beach. Others spend their weekends on outdoor adventures. As a campus, UCSB strongly supports student well-being through health and wellness programming and resources. The result? A college experience that is both educational and enjoyable.

College affiliation is independent of choice of major.
