Jen Poynter, PhD

Jen Poynter is an Associate Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Clinical Research in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Poynter did her graduate training at the University of Michigan and completed a fellowship at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Her work focuses on understanding risk factors for developing cancer in children and adults. Dr. Poynter is also evaluating outcomes after people are treated for cancer to figure out why some people have health complications from their treatment later in life. Dr. Poynter is an investigator on the Ten Thousand Families Study, and is one of the three Principal Investigators for a new National Cancer Institute funded study to evaluate the possible role of exposure to environmental chemicals and development of hematologic cancers, including leukemia and lymphoma.
