Advancing Management Research in Latin America

Hosted by IPADE Business School

With ties to 33 countries stretching from Mexico to Peru, Latin America provides a relevant setting for management research and its application, making it a perfect setting for our specialized conference. Through its rich history, culture, and various socioeconomic and political conditions, Latin America provides a perfect background for advancing management research.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to meet with colleagues that share interests in learning more about LATAM and have access to sessions and activities that will provide great cultural insights. Attendees will also experience Mexico City, the biggest metropolis in the region and with an exciting cultural, gastronomic and artistic scenery. IPADE Business School, a leading business school in the region, will host the event in a beautiful colonial-style building inserted in the middle of the city. The conference theme will provide intellectual insight, awareness of diversity in management practices, and promote scholarly conversations on a global scale. Read more about the conference theme here.

Specialized Conferences

The AOM Specialized Conferences Initiative features a portfolio of smaller, meaningful and sustainable new meeting opportunities that complement our historic Annual Meeting. Several new conference models will allow members and participants to connect and engage throughout the year, virtually and in varied locations, that are reflective of the geographic dispersion of our international membership. In addition to these conferences, new ideas that reflect the creative energy of our membership are expected to emerge, as the Academy experiments with new program structures, delivery modes, content features, and conference designs.

About Mexico City

Mexico City is the capital and largest city of Mexico. It is also one of the most populous cities in the world. Founded by the Aztec people, today about 8.5 million people live in the city, and about 18 million live in the Greater Mexico City area. The historic center of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with ancient archeological ruins, numerous colonial-era churches, a cathedral, and the former palace of the Viceroy of New Spain, now the National Palace. The city has museums of many types, housing cultural treasures of Mexico's history from ancient times to the modern era.
