Research Room

Each PHA International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions meeting features a Research Room,  where people with PH and their families can contribute to PH research. Scientists and health care professionals collect data and biological specimens to better understand PH, develop potential treatments and improve care.

Attendees who choose to participate might be asked to provide blood, allow researchers to swab the inside of their cheeks, or fill out surveys. By participating in Research Room studies, the PH community can make a difference in the study of pulmonary hypertension. For example, the gene for heritable PAH was discovered as result of an early Research Room study.

The number of studies offered this year will be limited because of the pandemic. Patients and caregivers must sign up at for specific time slots for each study to ensure distancing.

Attendees can indicate their interest in participating during the PHA 2022 registration process
