Important News About Vancouver Hotels

It has come to our attention that a few Vancouver Hotels are involved in a union strike. This apparently involves the hourly paid employees. The strike started on September 19 and, while we hope they come to a resolution before our event starts for all involved, we want to be sure all attendees are aware that your hotel may have possible picketing and reduced services. 

While the strike will be noticeable, we know that if any industry can handle this – it's ours! We already practice conservation – so not having our room serviced every day is no problem. More importantly, we sympathize with the union workers cause and want fair wages and safe working environments for everyone.

 To our knowledge the hotels affected to date are: Hyatt Regency Vancouver, Westin Bayshore, Pinnacle Harbourfront, and Rosewood Hotel Georgia.

Hyatt Regency Vancouver

Hotel Location: Located in the heart of downtown and ten minutes from the Vancouver Convention Centre, the Hyatt Regency Vancouver has easy access to various shops, dining, and Stanley Park, a 400-hectare natural West Coast rainforest.

Rates: $265.00 CAD single/double occupancy plus 17.5% taxes (8% PST, 5% GST, 3% local tax, and 1.5% destination marketing tax; subject to change). Rooms are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.  Guest rooms are available three (3) days pre- and post-conference, based on availability at the time of booking.

Hotel Location: The family-owned and operated Century Plaza Hotel and Spa provides guests with a home-away-from-home ambience, in the very center of downtown Vancouver and ten minutes from the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Rates: $199.00 CAD single/double occupancy plus 17.5% taxes (8% PST, 5% GST, 3% local tax, and 1.5% destination marketing tax; subject to change). Rooms are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.  All rooms are studio suites with kitchenettes or full kitchens; some have balconies. A $25.00 per night food credit is included in the room rate.

Reservations:  Make your reservations here.  A one-night room and tax deposit are taken at the time of reservation.  The remainder of the hotel stay is charged on September 30, 2019.

Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver Hotel

Hotel Location: The Coast Coal Harbour Vancouver by APA, a new urban style hotel, is situation in the heart of the city near beautiful Stanley Park and a few blocks from the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Rates: Comfort Rooms: $199.00 CAD single/double occupancy; Superior Room: $229 single/double occupancy, plus 17.5% taxes (8% PST, 5% GST, 3% local tax, and 1.5% destination marketing tax; subject to change). Rooms are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Guest rooms are available three (3) days pre- and post-conference, based on availability at the time of booking (you will need to contact the hotel directly). All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows.

Cut Off Date: Reservation must be made prior to Monday, September 16, 2019 or until the hotel room block is sold out; whichever occurs first.

Cancellation: Reservations may be cancelled up to 4:00pm Pacific Day Light Time (G-7) 72 hours (3 days) prior to the initial arrival date without any additional penalty. The first (1^st) night’s NON-REFUNDBALE room and taxes will not be refunded.  No-show or late cancelled reservations will also incur a 50% charge on all remaining nights on their reservation (e.g., nights 2, 3, etc.).

Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront

Hotel Location: The Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront is in the heart of downtown Vancouver's Coal Harbour, also known as the financial district offers great harbor views, local dining and shopping, and is a 5-minute walk from the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Rates: $229.00 CAD single/double occupancy plus 17.5% taxes (8% PST, 5% GST, 3% local tax, and 1.5% destination marketing tax; subject to change). Rooms are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Guest rooms are available two (2) days pre- and post-conference, based on availability at the time of booking (to arrive or extended  your hotel reservation, you need to contact the hotel directly). 

Reservations: All reservations are made through the Passkey Reservation System.

Rooms are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Guest rooms are available two (2) days pre- and post-conference, based on availability at the time of booking.  All rooms are studio suites with fully equipped kitchens. A hot full breakfast buffet is included in the room rate.
