Film Festival

Join us as we explore Duty Free, a new film exploring the joys and challenges of aging well. All Age+Action attendees will receive a free screening—plus an exclusive Q&A with the mother and son featured in the movie.

About the Film
After a 75-year-old immigrant mother gets fired from her job, her son takes her on an adventure to help her reclaim her life. As she struggles to find work, he documents a journey that uncovers the economic insecurity shaping not only her future, but that of an entire generation. Through emotional and compelling storytelling, Duty Free aims to not only increase visibility of older adults, but to re-characterize this generation for who they really are—human, capable, productive, useful, beautiful and important. The feature-length documentary has been called “touching” and “poignant” by both CBS News and The Hollywood Reporter and has been featured in USA Today.

Live Q&A: Wednesday, June 9 at 5:30 p.m.
During the conference, join us for an exclusive Live Q&A with Duty Free Director Sian-Pierre and his mother and film protagonist, Rebecca Danigelis. NCOA President & CEO Ramsey Alwin will moderate the discussion. Sian-Pierre and Rebecca will explore the themes from the film, where their journey has led them, and solutions to ensure older generations are both cared for and respected within today’s society.
