PROGRAM CHAIR

Dr. Karpecki received his doctor of optometry degree from Indiana University and completed a Durrie fellowship in Medical Cornea and Refractive Surgery in Kansas City in affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He currently serves as Director of Cornea Services for Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington KY, Gaddie Eye Centers in Louisville KY, Center for Sight in Carmel IN. He is Medical Director for KEPLR Vision and on the LBRS Team at iOR Partners. In 2017 he completed a full year preceptorship in advanced retinal disease at Retina As- sociates of Kentucky. He also currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville.

Dr. Karpecki was appointed to the Delphi International Society, which included the top 25 dry eye experts in the world. He co-chaired the Dry Eye Summit for the profession, was selected to the TFOS DEWS II Diagnostic Methodology sub- committee and appointed co-chair for the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society Symposia. He served as Co-chair of the Dry Eye Session at the Ophthalmic In- novations Summit during ASCRS and co-chaired OIS Optometry.

Dr. Karpecki also serves as the Chief Medical Editor for Review of Optometry, the most read journal in the profession, and is on the board for the charitable organization Optometry Giving Sight.
