World Telemedicine & eHealth Forum

Dear Colleagues,

I wish to extend to you all a very warm welcome to the 1st World Telemedicine and eHealth Forum (WTeHF), accompanied by the World Telemedicine and eHealth Trophy (WTeHT) Awards Ceremony, on March 24 – 26, 2015 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The theme of the conference is"World class healthcare for all through Telemedicine and eHealth: Improving quality, increasing access and reducing costs"

As technology continues to redefine the way in which healthcare is delivered and managed, we are organizing this event in Abu Dhabi with the aim to bring together all major stakeholders of the mHealth and eHealth (m-eHealth) ecosystem from the Gulf states as well as globally, to network, share best practices and showcase innovative solutions in Telemedicine and eHealth during relevant sessions and at the concurrent exhibition.

We want to explore what information and communication technology (ICT) has contributed to: a) person-centered health (and patient-centric care)in the six dimensions of quality; b) increasing access to health services for anyone, at anytime and anywhere, thus narrowing the equity gap and reaching the unreached; and c) reducing costs by going paperless and building once but using many times – reusable objects for health and health care.

We will make this event a very productive engagement for attendees, with meaningful discussions, which lead to practical solutions for various categories of our stakeholders. At the accompanying exhibition, you will be able to witness and experience how technology is changing health and healthcare for the better.

The website has gone live – visit www.telemedicine.ae for more information. So, mark your calendars and I look forward to welcoming you all to this premier Telemedicine and eHealth event, which we expect to become a permanent fixture on your annual calendar.

Sincerely,

Prof. S. Yunkap Kwankam, PhD
