Yuri Bender

Yuri Bender is a financial journalist focusing on private banking, international asset management and capital markets. He has edited and launched a variety of titles at the Financial Times group and is currently Editor-in-Chief of the Professional Wealth Management pan-European and Asian magazine, website and events hub. 

He has promoted and led debate on how private banks and asset management groups must match customer needs. He moderates panels on financial, business and cultural issues in Europe, the US and Asia, has reported from developing markets including Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Russia and Ukraine and writes a regular column for FTfm, the fund management section of the FT newspaper. He studied Investment Management at the London Business School.

 
Magnus Bjorkman

SEB Wealth Management

Magnus Bjorkman is responsible for managing SEB's partnerships with external investment managers, covering both sub-advisory and distribution of third-party funds. At SEB he has also been responsible for product development (long-only) and institutional client service. 

Mr Bjorkman was previously with ABB Investment Management, where he was a senior portfolio manager responsible for global and regional equity portfolios and a member of the global asset allocation committee. 

He has over 20 years of experience of the asset management industry, having held positions in New York, London and Stockholm. After working in different parts of the asset management "value chain", he is particularly interested in further developing SEB's solutions-oriented business model together with partner firms.

 
Rita Clifton
International Branding Expert and Chairman

Rita Clifton is one of the world’s leading experts on brands and branding, and is a speaker, facilitator, writer, business leader and portfolio director. She has worked with many of the world’s leading companies on their brand strategy, as well as start-ups and ambitious businesses in just about every sector. 

She was Vice Chairman and Strategy Director at Saatchi & Saatchi in its most successful period, and over fifteen years was London CEO and then Chairman at Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy. She now has a portfolio of directorships, including as chair of BrandCap, the brand consultancy for the boardroom. 

Ms Clifton speaks around the world on subjects as diverse as innovation, personal branding, branding in the digital age, communicating sustainability, and women on boards – as well as how to become one of the world’s most valuable brands in any sector. She is also passionate about her not for profit board roles, particularly in the environmental and community sectors.

 
Roger Cobley
Chairman
Stamford Associates

Having spent his entire career working in pension, Roger Cobley is now the Chairman of Stamford Associates Limited, the international investment consulting firm, Chairman of the Trustee Board of two pension funds and an independent member of the investment sub-committee of another major fund. 

He is Past Chairman of the Independent Pension Trustee Group, and has served on the Accounting Standards Board Pensions Advisory Panel. He was Honorary Treasurer and President of the Council of the Pensions Management Institute, and was previously Chairman of the PMI Eastern Region Group. Mr Cobley was International Benefits Director for Fisons plc and Manager, International Consulting with Mercer. Before joining Fisons, he worked for Rank Xerox as International Benefits Manager, and he became an international benefits consultant, after working for two insurance companies. 

As well as being a Fellow of the PMI, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries. He contributes articles to technical journals and is a frequent speaker or chairman at Conferences and Seminars.

 
Stéphane Corsaletti
CEO
ABN AMRO Advisors

Stéphane Corsaletti is the founder and CEO of AA Advisors, the ABN AMRO Centre of Expertise for manager research and multi-management. He is also a Managing Director of ABN AMRO Bank and the Chairman of its French asset management arm, Neuflize OBC Investissements. Prior to his current role Mr Corsaletti was, until 1998, the Chief Economist and Strategist of Neuflize, a leading private bank in France, fully owned by ABN AMRO. 

Before joining the Dutch group in 1990, he was an economist at the OFCE, a French forecasting institute, belonging to the state-owned “Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques”.


 
Pascal Duval
EMEA Chief Executive Officer
Russell Investments

Pascal Duval is CEO of Russell Investments’ EMEA region, based in London. Since he joined Russell in 1994, he has held various senior positions in the organisation. He has been head of partnerships and distribution alliances business in EMEA, which included responsibility for development of new strategic relationships across the region, such as Russell’s multi-manager fund programmes for the UK with the Lloyds TSB/Scottish Widows Group, Italy with ARCA SGR Spa, France with the Société Générale Group and Israel with Bank Hapoalim. He is also a member of Russell’s global executive committee. 

Prior, Mr Duval was managing director and head of Russell’s institutional investors business in the EMEA region. Before moving to London in 2001, he was managing director of the French office in Paris and director of Russell’s consulting and analytical services operations in France.

Prior to Russell, he worked for Wyatt Paris from 1989 to 1994 as a consultant in the company’s newly created asset consulting department. He spent one year with Eurospet Associés, an organisation and information systems consulting firm. Mr Duval had previously worked as a commodity trader on physical and futures markets for Riz et Denrées, an international commodity trading company.

 
Oliver Gregson
Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management
Barclays

Oliver Gregson is Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management at the Wealth and Investment Management division of Barclays. In his role, Mr Gregson leads the global Discretionary Portfolio Management Team with over 100 investment professionals located globally at strategic hubs, managing substantial assets on behalf of 25,000 clients. As such he is accountable for the definition, implementation and execution of the end-to-end delivery for this proposition across the Wealth and Investment Management division of Barclays. Previously he was Head of Sales Marketing & Product Development, UK, EMEA and Asia, having started his career at Barclays running Investment Advisory UK, Africa Offshore and Central and Eastern Europe.

Before joining Barclays, Mr Gregson was at UBS Wealth Management. He joined UBS from Citigroup Private Bank where he worked in London and Geneva. He began his career at Insinger de Beaufort in Amsterdam as a Portfolio Manager. He holds a BSc in Biology with European Studies from Nottingham University.

 
Andrea Lacalamita
Head of Global Products and Strategic Marketing
UniCredit Group

With more than 19 years in the financial services industry, Andrea Lacalamita has developed a broad experience in product and process innovation, sales and distribution network steering, client segmentation and communication. Mr Lacalamita has global responsibility on strategic marketing, focusing mainly on individual segments (mass market, private banking, affluent) as well as global products (fund selection, global credit cards and mobile payments). He previously served the Group as Private Banking Global Head of Products and Marketing leading product development, marketing communication, segment management and fund selection. 

His previous role at UniCredit was Head of Product and Marketing for the Italian Private Banking business. He also worked for Banca Mediolanum as Head of Products, as well for Credito Italiano. During the early 1990s , Mr Lacalamita served as assistant professor at the University of Economics and Business in Rome. He recently wrote a psychological novel, published in 2011. He holds a BA on Economic and Business from LUISS University, Rome.

 
John McLaughlin

John McLaughlin joined Schroders in 1993, and has been Head of Portfolio Solutions since 2011. 

Prior to his current role, he headed the Multi-Asset investment group from 2008 to 2011, the Tokyo office of Schroders as Country Head from 2004 until 2008 and the Structured Investments team in London from 2000 to 2004. He transferred from J. Henry Schroders & Co. Ltd to Schroder Investment Management Limited in 2000. Mr McLaughlin has a Doctorate in Mathematics from University of Oxford.

 
Matt Oomen

Matt Oomen is Executive Director and head of EMEA Distribution for BNY Mellon Investment Management. In his role, Mr Oomen is responsible for client relationships across the region, distribution strategy and is a key sponsor of product development and delivery. He also has overall responsibility for strategic relationship management for BNY Mellon’s most important clients, managing a global team across the asset management business, ensuring each client is appropriately covered around the world. Mr Oomen joined BNY Mellon in 2001 and has held roles covering client management, operations and strategy.
 
Furio Pietribiasi
Managing Director
Mediolanum Asset Management

Furio Pietribiasi is Managing Director at Mediolanum Asset Management Ltd., Dublin. He is responsible for Irish Operations of Mediolanum in Ireland and he is also the Chairman of Gamax Management AG and member of the Board of Mediolanum Specialities SICAV SIF in Luxembourg. 

Mr Pietribiasi was previously responsible for product development of funds and insurance products, distributed in Italy, Germany and Spain and he also oversaw the selection and the relationships with external investment advisors. He is currently Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Irish Association of Investment Managers and member of the Council of IFSC Ireland, and is part of the Taoiseach (“Irish Prime Minister”) Department Working Groups for the Funds and Asset Management. 

He started his career in investment management in Mediolanum Gestione Fondi in Milan and prior to that he worked in one of the leading legal and fiscal practices in Italy. Mr Pietribiasi holds a BA in Finance and Economics.

 
Amin Rajan
Chief Executive Officer

Amin Rajan is the Chief Executive of the Centre for Research in Employment and Technology in Europe (CREATE) – a pan-European network of prominent researchers undertaking high level advisory assignments for the UK Government, City institutions, multinational companies and international bodies. He has also acted as a senior consultant to a wide range of companies. He has published numerous books and articles on leadership, business cultures, socio-economic forecasting, globalisation, new technologies, diversity and new business models. 

Mr Rajan is a visiting professor at the Cass Business School, London Metropolitan University, Centre for Leadership Studies at Exeter University, President of the Scientific Committee at Audencia – Nantes Ecole de Management in France, and on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Asia-Pacific Business. In 1998 he was awarded the Aspen Institute’s Prize in leadership. It is a subject on which he has done extensive research involving some of today’s outstanding business leaders. In two resulting publications, he has developed a close link between leadership, strategy and the emerging business models. His work has proved so influential that he now provides leadership coaching to Chief Executives, executive committees and investment specialists in different companies.

 
Gavin Rankin

Gavin Rankin has 16 years’ worth of finance experience, starting his career with Goldman Sachs in London, where he worked in what later became the prime brokerage group. After 2 years he moved to New York where he continued in the group in a product development role.

In 2004, Gavin moved into wealth management, joining the Citigroup Private Bank as European Product Manager and then in June 2005, becoming co-Head, Investments, Europe.

In 2006, Gavin moved to UBS Wealth Management in London, where he spent 4 years in a variety of product and investment roles. Latterly, Gavin was a Managing Director with responsibility for the UK advisory offering and client-facing product and investment specialists.

Gavin re-joined Citi Private Bank in September as Head of Advisory Services, EMEA with responsibility for setting up the Investment Advisory offering in Europe and the Middle East, taking full responsibility for Managed Investments in January 2012. In his current role Gavin is responsible for the delivery of traditional investments, discretionary and advisory portfolios, private equity, real estate and hedge funds in EMEA. Gavin is also responsible for Citi Private Bank’s custody offering in EMEA.

Gavin holds the CFA charter and a BSC (Hons) in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol.
 
Emanuele Ravano
Managing Director
PIMCO

Emanuele Ravano is a managing director in PIMCO’s London office. He heads the global wealth management team in Europe and is responsible for developing PIMCO’s activities in remarketing, asset allocation and fund-of-funds. He previously set up the portfolio management role in London and was part of the European strategy group for several years. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2001, he spent 16 years at Credit Suisse First Boston and Credit Suisse Asset Management as a managing director and head of European fixed income. He has 28 years of investment experience and holds an undergraduate degree from Loyola College in Baltimore.

 
Jim Smith

T.Rowe Price Group

Jim Smith is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. and is in charge of the UK coordination of Global Intermediary relationships (GFIs). Mr. Smith has 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, he worked for the Capital Group Companies, where he was initially an analyst specialising in asset allocation. He then transitioned to a client management role, responsible for servicing institutional equity and fixed income clients domiciled in the UK, Netherlands and Africa. Previously, Mr. Smith worked for Baring Asset Management and Schroder Investment Management.

 
Sergio Trezzi
Managing Director, Head of European Retail Distribution
Invesco Asset Management

Sergio Trezzi is a member of the Cross Border Distribution Management team and leads the Retail Sales and Client Service activities in Europe (excluding UK). He is also Country Head of Italy, being the main country contributor of cross border fund assets. He joined Invesco in July 1999, became associate partner in June 2001 and partner in 2005. 

During his 13 year with Invesco, Mr Trezzi has covered different roles and projects, including European Strategic Distributors initiatives since 2010, and the launch of the European PowerShares ETF initiatives from 2007 to 2010. He was also the representative for Continental Europe in the Offshore Product Development Worldwide Committee in 2003. Previously, Mr Trezzi worked at Crédit Agricole Indosuez and JP Morgan, in both Investment Banking and Investment Management. He is a member of the Assogestioni board (Italian Mutual Fund Association) and AIPB (Italian Private banking Association) where he joined the Financial Market and Real Estate Committee. 

Mr Trezzi earned a degree in Banking, Finance and Insurance economy from Università Cattolica in Milan, where he has been Associate Professor since June 2011.

 
Elisa Trovato

Elisa Trovato is deputy editor of Professional Wealth Management magazine, covering wealth and asset management, with a focus on asset allocation, portfolio management and distribution models. She chairs panel debates on a variety of investment topics and manages PWM research projects, including the annual European sub-advisory study. She joined the FT Group as a researcher in 2004. Previously, she worked for management consulting and research firms in London.

 
John Ventre

John Ventre joined Old Mutual in 2008, and has been responsible since then for the group's successful multi-asset funds. 

Previously, Mr Ventre worked as a broker for ADM Investor Services International, specialising in trading commodities and equity volatility, latterly moving to the buy side as a partner in a start-up private client investment management firm. For several years he taught the Derivatives module of the MSc in International Banking and Finance for Liverpool Business School. He holds a BA (Hons) from Peterhouse, Cambridge and an MA (Cantab), the Investment Management Certificate, as well as Futures and Options Representative qualifications.
