Leadership for Social Innovation
A unique programme for leaders in philanthropic trusts, government and local government agencies
Tuesday 24 May 2016 - Friday 27 May 2016
Hillside Hotel, Hillside Station, Hamilton 3281
Leaders of social innovation need to be open to new possibilities and new ways of doing things. Effective leadership in social innovation starts with challenging your own leadership thinking and practice – you can’t change the world without changing yourself.
That’s why the Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy New Zealand are partnering to provide a world-class Leadership for Social Innovation programme. This new initiative is designed to create an opportunity for mid-career and senior managers in philanthropic trusts, government and local government agencies who are involved in developing, funding and implementing social innovation programmes.
The 4-day residential course will challenge your current mindsets and your relationship with yourself, and provide you with the tools to help your organisation become more innovative, more collaborative and, ultimately more effective.  You'll be learning alongside other leaders in social innovation and will have the opportunity to gain insights from their experience - and contribute your own.
The Leadership for Social Innovation programme will:
  • explore the leadership principles and tools you need to bring about real social change
  • explore how your own consciousness and energy impacts on your life and work
  • look at the current social innovation landscape, and explore new ways of working such as Agile Methods, Design Thinking, reflective practice and prototyping
  • provide practical tools for a more effective relationship with yourself and others
  • help you become a more conscious navigator of your own life and work journey
  • develop leadership competencies such as communication, feedback, using your power, energy, time-management and coaching
  • help you develop mindfulness, self-awareness and emotional literacy
  • explore the skills you need to become a true collaborator and co-creator
  • help you cultivate your highest love and wisdom and use that in your work
The beautiful Hillside Hotel in the Waikato is the venue for this fully residential workshop.  All meals (including breakfast and dinner) and accommodation are included in the course fee. A twin share option is also available (reduce fee by $150).  See Venue page for more information.
