Oklahoma Brownfields Conference 2018

Design Charrette
On September 27th the Oklahoma Brownfields Conference will be hosting the Sapulpa Main Street Program and the University Of Oklahoma College Of Architecture as they participate in a live design charrette. This charrette will be a multi-disciplinary study prioritizing economic, social, infrastructure, environmental, sustainability, site design and reuse opportunities and constraints within a study area centered around the downtown street, Hobson, and Route 66 as it passes through historic downtown Sapulpa.

3 groups of students will study the area and the goals of Sapulpa’s Main Street Program and come up with ideas to assist with the redevelopment of that area.  During the charrette students will spend time with professionals from different disciplines to help them consider how to address issues holistically in their redevelopment plans.

This will be an open format and we look forward to watching the teams move from presentation of the project to presentation of their solutions throughout the day.  The charrette will be held in the foyer at the west entrance of the Skirvin Hotel and will be come and go.  Attendees are  encouraged to stop by and see what the students are doing and ask questions about their approach to developing solutions to challenges faced in economic development and community revitalization.

Thank you to the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture and Refined Properties!
