1. Who should attend this conference?
The 2019 NCOA Age+Action Conference takes the place of the annual conferences for the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC), Center for Healthy Aging partners, and Center for Benefits Access grantees. The agenda will include sessions for professionals and advocates working at the local, state, and national levels to improve the health and economic security of older adults. We encourage senior centers, community-based organizations, aging services providers, government agencies, policymakers, SHIPs, Benefits Enrollment Centers (BECs), MIPPA grantees, Aging Mastery® (AMP) sites, Falls Free® Coalition members, CDSME partners, and national and local funding partners to attend.

2. What does the conference cost?
Below is a breakdown of registration costs. Early-bird rates are available until 11:59 p.m. ET, May 10. Registration fees include: conference materials, admission to all education sessions, and meals indicated in the program.

In addition to registration, the National Institute of Senior Centers is hosting a senior center tour on Monday, June 17. There is a $30 fee for the tour, which includes transportation to and from the center in Rockville, MD, and lunch on-site.

3. We are a Benefits Enrollment Center or a MIPPA state grantee. How many attendees does my grant include as a supported traveler?
Each BEC and MIPPA state grantee is invited to send no more than two (2) representatives to the conference. Additional BEC and MIPPA representatives are welcome to attend the conference but will be responsible for paying all associated costs, including registration fees, travel, and lodging.

4. How will we know if we are allowed supported travelers?
NCOA has invited individuals who are identified as the primary BEC contact or the MIPPA lead in each state. These individuals should work with their organizations/other state agencies administering the program to determine who should attend. NCOA recommends that attendees be individuals who play an active role in managing the programmatic aspects of the MIPPA grant/BEC. NCOA cannot make the decision of who the two attendees will be for each MIPPA state grantee or BEC.

5. If I am a supported traveler, how do I book my travel?
NCOA has contracted with Altarum to handle conference registration and logistics. Supported travelers will receive a direct link to the official conference registration page, which will include information on booking your travel. Travel will need to be booked using our travel agency, Travel Leaders, no later than Friday, May 17, 2019. Tickets purchased are non-refundable.

6. What if I need a formal invitation from NCOA to provide to my state for approved travel?

7. Can I forward information about this conference to my network?
Yes. Anyone interested in ensuring every person’s right to age with their best possible health and economic security is welcome to attend.

8. I want to submit a workshop proposal for the conference, when are they due?
The call for workshop proposals has closed. Those with accepted proposals will be notified in February.

9. Will there be time for networking during this conference?
Yes. One of the goals of the conference is to facilitate improved collaboration and coordination among aging professionals and organizations. The agenda will include ample time for networking and discussion with your peers.

10. Will there be time for Capitol Hill visits during this conference?
Yes, there will be an opportunity to visit your policymakers in Congress to educate them about your work. Watch for more information about how NCOA can help facilitate the visit.

12. Are press invited to the 2019 NCOA Age+Action Conference?
Yes. NCOA and our sponsors welcome media to the conference. Every member of the press must request media access before registering through the link on the website. Member of the press include reporters, editors, publishers, media producers, columnists/bloggers, and other editorial producers who produce fact-based news and/or analysis. Those requesting media access may be asked to confirm their status by providing previously published materials.
Freelance writers and producers will be asked to provide written information about the outlet for which they are providing coverage. This could include providing written verification from the outlet. Freelance writers and producers without an assignment will be considered on an individual basis. Conference presenters, marketing/advertising and PR professionals, and academic or other non-journalistic book authors are not eligible for media badges, even if associated with a news organization.

13. Is there a cancellation or refund policy?
All
cancellations received by May 16, 2019 will be issued a refund, less an
administrative fee of $50. NO REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE AFTER May 16,2019.

How to Download
