About the event

Are you interested in how to support teachers effectively in developing their technology enhanced teaching (TET) competence based on a culture of self- reflection? Would you like to have reliable evidence on the impact of a self-assessment tool tested with teachers in 11 countries? Then the final MENTEP conference is for you.

The final conference of the MENTEP policy experimentation will take place on Tuesday, 27 March 2018 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brussels. During the one - day conference, we will present the final results of this major European Commission funded Policy Experimentation (2015-2018) for the first time.

In particular, the conference programme will include key note presentations and interactive workshop sessions on:

- the methodology and research results of the field trials (December 2016 - June 2017) implemented with over 7300 teachers in 11 countries to test the new online self-assessment tool TET-SAT

- key project findings on research into online self- assessment and a certification feasibility study

- how to engage teachers in collaborative learning and knowledge building around TET competences via MOOCs

- capacity building sessions on how to run a policy experimentation with schools

- hands- on sessions with teachers introducing TET-SAT, a newly developed online tool for teachers to self-assess their Technology- Enhanced Teaching

- guidance and discussions on the further implementation and sustainability of the tool

As of May 2018, the online self- assessment tool will be available in 12 languages (Croatian, Czech, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, Greek, Italian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Slovenian, Spanish). The MENTEP TET-SAT will be freely available as an Open Educational Resource and can be adapted and embedded in national education portals linked to a wider system of tools, resources and support offered to teachers.

The conference is addressing senior policy-makers at national, regional or local level, teachers as well as other educational stakeholders and researchers.

The conference is free-of-charge, however the participants need to cover their own costs (travel and hotel). A pre-registration is available online. Seats are limited and therefore your participation will be confirmed by the workshop organisers in a separate email. To pre-register, please click on the new registration button above.

What is TET-SAT?

TET-SAT is an online self-assessment tool that aims to help teachers:

- develop digital pedagogical competence

- engage more actively in reflecting on their pedagogical practice using ICT, stimulated by a structured self-assessment exercise providing feedback according to five levels of progression

- self-direct their learning and develop their competence whenever they want, at their own pace, extending professional development opportunities to informal online learning environments

- establish a personal competence profile, which can be compared to other teachers

- access a tailored ecosystem of European and national training resources to further develop their competencies according to need or interest
