Suzy Menkes, fashion editor

Suzy MenkesSuzy Menkes is fashion’s authority. Her daily reports for the International Herald Tribune during the monthlong international collections are a must-read for the industry. And throughout the year, her interviews with leading designers and fashion executives reveal the reality behind the glamour.

The power of this exceptional Fashion Editor comes from the International Herald Tribune, the world’s only truly global newspaper, which gives the fashion reports and analysis exceptional power.

With unstinting support from the IHT’s Publisher and its Editor-in-Chief, Suzy Menkes is able to write free from editorial constraints and the pressure of big-brand advertisers. She covers the universe of fashion, from haute couture to street style, from women to menswear and from jewelry to the arts.

Recently she has questioned the morality of ‘fast’ fashion and also looked at the generation gap between the venerable names of 20th Century fashion and their successors.

The role of Suzy Menkes as a reporter and critic of the highest integrity has been

publicly recognized with a Légion d’Honneur from the French President for services to Fashion; and, from the Queen of England, the Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) for fashion journalism.

Suzy Menkes majored in History and English Literature at Cambridge University in her native England. She is the author of royal books including, The Royal Jewels, a study of Queen Elizabeth’s private collection; The Windsor Style, an exploration of the lifestyle of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and Queen and Country, a journey through the rural royal world and the ecological interests of Prince Charles.
