RAISE DE ROOF

A GOSPEL MUSIC SHOWCASE and GUMBO COOK-OFF
to benefit OPERATION HOME

Summertime and the living is easy; fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high!

Summer time in the Lowcountry is slow and easy; a time to enjoy the bounty of the land and thank the good Lord for all we have: good food, a safe home, friends and family. Come out to the Joe Sunday, July 13, 2014 to listen to a few of the areas finest Gospel Choirs raise their voices to help raise money for the good works of Operation Home. Along with the Choirs, taste some of the regions bounty from the earth, as local chef and would-be chef offer their Gumbo for judging. Gospel and Gumbo is the perfect combination of ingredients for a Sunday afternoon in the Lowcountry Summertime. Gates open at 3pm; Gospel Choirs start at 4pm, the Gumbo Judging is at 6pm.

If Gumbos isn't your thing, there will be a Sunday Church Picnic Dinner available on Doby's Deck from 5pm until 7pm. Southern pan-fried Chicken, Potato Salad,  Cole Slaw, Fresh Fruit and Brownies and of-course Sweet Tea. We'll also offer a children's plate. But if a Picnic isn't your style, the general concessions at the Joe will be open for burgers, hot dogs and the like.

Raise De Roof is a celebration of Gospel Music from around the Tri County area to support the good works of Operation Home. Operation Home helps those less fortunate to stay in their homes and make them safe. Their Mission: Is to help people stay in their homes by increasing safety and accessibility through the coordination of critical home repairs for low-income residents of Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. Their work focuses on those who need them the most: households with children, a person with a disability or an older adult. Operation Home is committed to ensuring that no person has to live in a home that is inaccessible or unsafe.
