Too many teachers teach what they were taught and how they were taught, and neither necessarily meets the needs of students, which is the universally agreed upon Five Cs student outcomes: critical thinking, communication, creativity, collaboration and character, and my sixth C—cross-cultural competency. In every other industry, leadership listens to the voice of its sales force about what the consumer wants, needs, deserves and how new technologies can help deliver. This session will observe the difference between management and leadership, the large shifts in education, the educational approaches and technologies that independent schools that lead capitalize on and the shifting acceptances of these changes by the public, as well as the college admission industry.
