Description: This course will explain the importance of oral health literacy (OHL) and the efforts of the AGD to advance OHL. Members who complete this course will gain awareness of how they can be a part of this effort to activate patients into seeking oral health care from your practice.

Through a panel discussion, the course will address:

  • What is Oral Health Literacy (OHL)?
  • Why is OHL awareness a national priority?
  • The activities and actions of the AGD with regard to Oral Health Literacy, including the OHL Summit and Consensus Statement.
  • How will the AGD and AGD dentists foster greater communication of OHL Awareness with concerned stakeholders, including government entities and the public?
  • Opportunities for the AGD and AGD members with regard to the AGD’s oral health literacy awareness act.
