Howdy, Y’all! We are excited to welcome friends from all over the World to the 18th North & Central American Regional Conference, hosted by Dallas Chapter 13 and Fort Worth Chapter 38. The Conference will take place Sunday, October 27 – Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel, in the heart of Downtown Dallas and the Arts District!
The theme, and our mission, for the 18thNCARC is “GROW Ikebana”. The word Ikebana stems from the Japanese ikeru and hana, which translates to “keep alive”, “arrange flowers”, and “giving life to flowers”. With GROW Ikebana, our intention is to facilitate new growth in an amazing art and organization that dates back to the 7thcentury.
With GROW Ikebana, we will offer education in schools and scholarships to attend workshops and convention. We will cultivate and perpetuate the Art of Ikebana, the beauty and joy of creation and love for nature.
We have an exciting program planned for the 18thNCARC. Our featured Guest Ikebana Artist is Headmaster Designate Mrs. Senko Ikenobo, who will exhibit a special arrangement and present a demonstration. Professor Manabu Noda will be present to conduct Ikenobo workshops.
We will also have guest Ikebana artists representing the Sogetsu, Ohara and Ichiyo schools. Each will present a demonstration and conduct workshops.
We invite you to experience Ikebana Texas style at the 18thNCARC, and we challenge you to bring someone new to further the "GROW Ikebana" mission.
See you in Dallas in 2019!
