Melissa Barnett OD Dr. Melissa Barnett is the principal optometrist at the University of California, Davis Eye Center in Sacramento. She is an internationally recognized key opinion leader, specializing in anterior segment disease and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Barnett lectures and publishes extensively on topics including dry eye, anterior segment disease, contact lenses and creating a healthy balance between work and home life for women in optometry. Gloria Chiu OD Dr. Chiu received her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Minor in Music at the University of California, Berkeley and her Doctor of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. She then pursued a post-graduate residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Southern California College of Optometry. Her research interests include physiological changes related to scleral lens wear and solution related microbiological findings. In 2009, she received the George W. Pauline Cho BOptom, MEd, PhD Prof. Pauline Cho obtained her Bachelor and PhD degrees from the University of New South Wales, Australia and University of Bradford, UK, respectively. Art Epstein OD Dr. Arthur B. Epstein is a native New Yorker who grew up in the Bronx, NY. Lyndon Jones PhD, FCOptom Dr. Lyndon Jones is a Professor at the School of Optometry and Vision Science, University Research Chair and Director of the Centre for Ocular Research & Education (CORE) at the University of Waterloo. Andrew Kemp OD Dr. Andrew Kemp attended the University of Texas at Austin where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology in 2010. Jamie Kuhn OD Originally from Northern California, Dr. Kuhn received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California at Davis. She graduated cum laude from the Southern California College of Optometry with an interest in Contact Lenses and Corneal Disease and then completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry. Previously faculty of the College of Optometry at Midwestern University in Arizona, Dr. Kuhn supervised care of patients in contact lenses and ocular prosthetic devices, as well as served as both a clinical and didactic professor in multiple courses of instruction. Jagrut Lallu Jagrut graduated with Honours and a host of undergraduate awards from the University of Auckland in 2009, that same year he began working for Visique Rose Optometrists – Home of the Rose K lens, in Hamilton, New Zealand. He has a special interest in the irregular cornea, disease and orthokeratology including Hyperopic, astigmatic and myopia control Ortho-K. He has relished in learning the art of contact lens fitting from his colleagues Paul Rose and Peter Walker. In late 2009 he setup the first myopia control clinic in New Zealand devoted to evidence based methods for control. He has become an owner of Rose Optometrists and Innovatus Technology which provides services to practitioners and manufacturers for rigid contact lens design through topography. Maria Liu OD, PhD, MPH, MBA Dr. Maria Liu is an associate professor of clinical optometry at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. Muriel Schornack OD Dr. Muriel Schornack received her Bachelor of Arts degree in organ performance from Jamestown College in 1984, followed by a Master of Music degree in piano pedagogy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1987. She worked as an arts administrator and piano instructor for several years before beginning to pursue her optometry degree in 1994. Louise Sclafani OD Dr. Louise A. Sclafani, a 1989 alumnus of ICO, began her career at the University of Chicago in 1993 where she was an Associate Professor of Surgery and Director of Optometric Services until 2017. In 2007 she joined Johnson & Johnson Vision Care as Professional Affairs Manager for the UK & Ireland. She moved to Canada in 2015 and having completed a two-year Medical Research Fellowship, is currently a Clinical Scientist at the Centre for Ocular Research & Education (CORE), Waterloo. She holds a post graduate diploma in Clinical Optometry from City University, London and is a Fellow of the International Association of Contact Lens Educators. | |
Bruce Williams OD Dr. Bruce Williams practices in Seattle with an emphasis on complex contact lens fitting including Orthokeratology. He is actively involved in clinical trials for several lens manufacturers and has published, lectured and conducted workshops across the US and in more than 30 cities on 5 continents. Dr. Williams is member of the American Optometric Association, Cornea and Contact Lens Section and the British Contact Lens Association, and an associate member of The International Association of Contact Lens Educators. He is a Reviewer for Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, the Journal of the British Contact Lens Association. He Is Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, College of Optometry and Western University of Health Sciences. He is also a Visiting Professor at He University Medical School in Shenyang, China and Ramkamphaeng University in Bangkok, Thailand. Alexandra Williamson OD Dr. Williamson graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2013. She holds an undergraduate degree and post-baccalaureate certificate from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She is a fellow of the Contact Lens Society of America and is a current member of the Children’s Vision Committee of the Michigan Optometric Association. She is currently in private practice in the Metro Detroit area. Prior to that, she built and oversaw the contact lens service for a high volume pediatric ophthalmology clinic. She maintains her affiliation with Children's Hospital of Michigan. Her publications and clinical interests revolve around the field of pediatric contact lens. | |
Stephanie Woo OD Dr. Stephanie L. Woo was born and raised in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She graduated with Magna Cum Laude from the University of Arizona and graduated with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry. She completed a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, where she was trained to fit highly irregular corneas. She was the recipient of the Gas Permeable Lens Institute Award for Clinical Excellence and also the John R. Griffin Award for Excellence in Vision Therapy. Dr. Woo is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society. She authored the Gas Permeable Lens Expert column in Review of Contact Lenses. She authored several articles for the Contact Lens and Cornea section of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Woo currently co-authors the GP Insights column for Contact Lens Spectrum, and she is an active GPLI advisory board member. Dr. Woo currently serves as Vice President of the Scleral Lens Society. Dr. Woo enjoys lecturing around the world on the subject of contact lenses and anterior segment disease. Dr. Woo owns Havasu Eye Center, Parker Vision Care, and Blythe Vision Care. | |
