Workshop Logistics Arrangements for Participant WCO Free Zone Online Conference “Meeting the SDGs - Ensuring Customs involvement for Free Zones’ December 14, 2020 Dear Delegates, Thank you very much for your registration to the WCO Free Zone Online Conference, held with the support from Customs Cooperation Fund of Japan. Due to extraordinary circumstances, the WCO will hold the workshop on December 14, 2020 on the KUDO platform in the form of virtual sessions of three hours (from 12:00 to 15:00 Brussels time). This Conference –themed “Meeting the SDGs - Ensuring Customs involvement for Free Zones’ competitiveness, safety and sustainability” – will focus on understanding the current situation of free zones (FZs) and their contribution to national economies, reconfirming the growing needs to apply adequate Customs procedures and controls. The Conference will also discuss Customs’ roles in FZs, and explore solutions to enable Customs, relevant authorities and the private sector to collectively address current and emerging challenges in FZs. Working languages of the Conference are English and French.
