About the event

EMINENT
is the Experts Meeting in Education Networking annual event organised by European Schoolnet. It brings experts in education, Ministries representatives and other stakeholders to discuss the latest trends in education and technology. Participation is by invitation only and the maximum number of attendees this year is 180.

Ministries of Education have shown an interest in having the 2016 Eminent on Digital Citizenship and its multiple facets. In Prague, we will explore issues such as increasing the competence level in digital skills of teachers and learners, supporting the safe and responsible use of the internet, developing online citizenship’s good practices and how collaboration between the various stakeholders supports the development of Digital Citizenship through the Better Internet for Kids project, the European eSkills for Jobs campaigns, or the numerous other projects European Schoolnet leads in those fields. Thanks to high level keynote speakers and the variety of presentations, participants will have access to a comprehensive state of play on the topic and be updated on the latest European policy development.

Within European Schoolnet, the Ministries’ representatives from the Interactive Classroom Working Group have been working on best teaching practices to develop the digital competences of teachers in their classroom. In addition, European Schoolnet is developing numerous resources and training opportunities through its Future Classroom Lab, the eSafety Label and partnership with industry stakeholders as well as through EU funded projects and services such as eTwinning, I-LINC, ENABLE, FCL Regio and MENTEP.
