SATELLITE SESSION ORGANIZER
CRDF Global

SATELLITE FOCUS:
Explore the role that EOCs can take in building resiliency before and after a disease outbreak.

SATELLITE DESCRIPTION:
CRDF Global will host and facilitate a multi-disciplinary panel of experts who will provide viewpoints on the support and development of EOCs as a source of resiliency in East and Sub-Saharan Africa and around the world. The four-person panel will use Kenya's EOC development as a case study in how universities and other stakeholders can support EOCs as a source of resiliency in pandemics and other significant disease outbreaks. The panel will specificially address costing models, curriculum for EOC leadership and managers, risk-based exercises and multi-sectoral response. The discussion will include specific examples from around the globe based on the panel's work in Sub-Saharan Africa, Jordan, Ukraine, and Iraq.

CRDF has been a leading implementer of programs facilitating international collaboration to strengthen global health research and security challenges for over a decade.
