Nicholas Grier was educated at Oxford and Edinburgh Universities. He is a qualified solicitor who worked in private practice and in merchant banking before moving into academia. He is the head of the Department of Law at Edinburgh Napier University. He has run many courses on company law throughout the UK, speaking to lawyers, accountants and the judiciary. He is one of the contributing editors to Gloag and Henderson, and has written various books and articles on banking and business law in Scotland. The fourth edition of his best known work, Company law, was recently published by Green’s.
