OLD MONTRÉAL WALK, VISIT TO THE MUSEUM OF ARCHAEOLOGY & LUNCH IN OLD MONTRÉAL
9:30 am to 3:00 pm

Old Montréal constitutes one of North America's most remarkable architectural ensembles. This walk through Old Montréal allows the visitor to discover Montréal's history through its old buildings and squares including a guided visit of Notre-Dame Basilica, an outstanding example of neo-gothic architecture. A professional guide will discuss the fortifications, the seigniorial system, and religious institutions inherited from the French and English Regimes. The highlight of this tour is Pointe-à-Callière Museum, the very birthplace of Montréal and the home of architectural artifacts portraying the lives of Montréalers from the days when natives camped here, right up to the present. Discover the history of Montréal, starting with the multimedia show, where you can watch thousands of years of history spin by in 18 fascinating minutes. Then, explore the artifacts in the Museum at your own pace, through a vibrant and colourful exhibition. Lunch will be served at a typical restaurant in Old Montreal.

* The tour on Monday is a coach tour and will contain minimal walking. The tour on Tuesday is a walking tour and will include a moderate level of walking including cobbled streets.
