Eligible entrants were Tourism and Leisure developments or refurbishments that had been completed in the previous five years, had been operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2013 and have not previously won the award.

The largest Council run sports and aquatic facility in Australia, GESAC is a one stop shop for wet and dry sports. The health and recreational activities feature a 50m outdoor pool, four indoor pools, sauna, steam room, spa, indoor multi-sport stadium, water slides, leisure water features for kids, gymnasium, high and low impact activity program rooms, crèche, café and consulting suites including physiotherapy services. GESAC provides leisure, recreation & “wellbeing” opportunities for people of all ages and abilities all year round.
