LEGAL NOTICESREFUND POLICY: ASJA will refund 100 percent of an attendee's registration remittance if email notice of cancellation is received at asjaevents@asja.org before 5 p.m. Eastern time, Wednesday, May 11, 2016. $100 of the fee is nonrefundable thereafter. No refund will be given for any reason if notice is not received at asjaevents@asja.org by 5 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, May 17, 2016. Force Majeure The ASJA shall not be liable for any failure or delay in holding the 2016 Annual Writers Conference ('Conference'), or be liable for the refund of any fees or payments to the extent said failure or delay results from a cause beyond the ASJA's reasonable control, including, without limitation: acts of God; war; terrorism; government regulation; police activity or investigation; curtailment of transportation facilities; strikes or union activity; the ASJA's failure to obtain insurance which is adequate in the ASJA's sole discretion; material failure of performance or repudiation of performance of any of the ASJA's suppliers, contractors, or subcontractors, including the Roosevelt Hotel, to substantially meet their respective obligations to the ASJA; or any other emergency beyond the ASJA's control, which makes it impossible, impractical, inadvisable, or illegal for the ASJA to hold the Conference, or which, in the ASJA's sole discretion, materially affects the ASJA's ability to hold the Conference. Recording, Transmission and Exhibition Attendees of the Conference agree not to record or transmit, or aid in recording or transmitting, any description, account, picture, or reproduction of the Conference or any portion thereof, including but not limited to any presentation, workshop, speaker or any materials distributed therein. Attendees grant permission to the ASJA to utilize attendees' image, likeness, actions and statements in any live or recorded audio, video, or photographic display or other transmission, exhibition, publication or reproduction made of, or at, the Conference in any medium or context without further authorization or compensation.
