CONFERENCE THEME
The HIMSS AsiaPac15 conference, themed “SMART Healthcare – Transforming how we manage Health”, will examine these six elements under Smart Healthcare:
Issues such as ageing in Asia increase the demand for chronic care management and post-hospitalization treatment. There is now a growing trend for facilities such as nursing homes and ILTC services. With this comes the need for accompanying technologies that will ensure the seamless transition of patient information and treatment plans throughout the care continuum.
This track will cover the following topics through global best practice case studies:
- Using innovative technology as a means to radically transform the traditional models of high-cost care while improving care quality
- How can SMART homes support self-care, home care, long-term care, assisted living, and other types of health and social care services by leveraging on a digital-enabled infrastructure?
- The rise of Telehealth and what healthcare providers need to know
Technology integration in a hospital setting is a complex process. Beyond adoption, healthcare providers from every level from nurses, doctors to COOs need to understand how technology can be applied to operations to improve patient care. There is also a critical need for all stakeholders to embrace technology as a key enabler to better healthcare outcomes within the complex hospital value chain.
This track will cover the following topics through global best practice case studies
- Creating a caregiver and patient-friendly SMART Hospital
- Using technologies to break down silos across the hospital value chain
- Investing in the right technologies for improved ROI and business efficiency
- Examining emerging trends and technologies that will create the hospitals of the future
SMARTConsumers can leverage on a high benefit-cost ratio infrastructure to stay connected anytime, anywhere. Using personalized devices and wearable technology, patients are better empowered to monitor their own health and with the Internet of Things (IoT), caregiver and patient connectedness will be enhanced, leading to greater engagement and better healthcare outcomes.
This track will cover the following topics through global best practice case studies:
- Creating a mobile healthcare landscape through wearable technology and mobile apps
- Improving patient and caregiver engagement through technology for patient safety
How can we move to a secure and efficient SMART Health Information Exchange (HIE) with scalable capabilities to achieve interoperability and implement standards for clinical and non-clinical information?
Critical questions surrounding how equitable patient-centered care can be achieved through HIE and how healthcare authorities can use HIE to analyze population health will be answered.
This track will cover the following topics through global best practices case studies:
- Ensuring smooth workflow processes and systems to break down silos within healthcare settings
- Ensuring standards and compliance
- Achieving interoperability for optimal healthcare outcomes
- The applications of HIE for equitable patient-centered care and population health
With digitization and widespread availability of data, we need to make intelligent sense of information and filter out the noise. Data has to be meaningfully analyzed to facilitate sound and effective decisions in real time for patient safety, process optimization and improved healthcare outcomes.
This track will cover the following topics through global best practice case studies:
- Analyzing data to generate meaningful intelligent solutions for patients in real-time
- Ensuring security and privacy for the patient
- The power of Predictive Analytics: Population Health, Preventive Care, Personalized Medicine
With Singapore building the World’s First SMART Nation, a range of healthcare models and services need to be in place in order to integrate the SMART Hospital into Singapore’s Health System.
This track will cover the following topics through best practice case studies from Singapore:
- Ensuring security and privacy for the patient
- Discussing SMARTData Systems for pro-active population care
