BEDA is hosting a “master of ceremonies” guided event that will project both a serious and celebratory feel through various stages of the evening. Attendees will enjoy a dessert reception and join the BEDA board of directors in honoring Jane Hirschman and Carol Munter for their groundbreaking work with their book Overcoming Overeating originally published in 1988 through its first “Pioneer Award.”

The occasion will also feature a screening of the 20-minute version of Beneath the Floorboards, a documentary on weight stigma, bullying, and binge eating disorder produced by ANAD, BEDA, and NORMAL. A brief Q & A will be held at the conclusion featuring representatives from the producing organizations. Watch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h39w7nMqyNo&feature=youtu.be

Finally, attendees will take to the dance floor and PARTY! We will collectively celebrate the progress of this community through a DJ hosted party. Bring your dancing shoes, hula hoops, or just your smile. It’s time to let loose, enjoy others, and enjoy conversations with old and new friends.
