Currency & Accepted Forms of Payment

Most major casinos will exchange foreign currency. In addition, Terminal 2 at McCarran International Airport will have facilities to exchange currency though exchange rates may not be very competitive.

Credit or charge cards are widely accepted throughout Las Vegas. The most common are Visa, MasterCard and American Express, while Discover, Diners Club and Carte Blanche are also generally accepted. Some vendors may accept international cards like enRoute, EuroCard and JCB.

Cash machines, or ATMs, are available at almost every hotel.

Traveler’s Checks are accepted at most major casinos with proof of ID (passport). Fees may be assessed.

Tipping Guide

Electricity

The United States uses 110 to 120 volts AC (60 cycles). If visiting from outside of North America, you may require an electrical adapter for any electronics or appliances you want to bring. Las Vegas electrical outlets accept the standard North American plug with two flat parallel pins.

Time

During ASF 2013, Las Vegas will be in Pacific Standard Time (PST) and is 8 hours behind GMT.

Visas

The visa application process can take six months or more, so we encourage attendees from countries other than the United States to apply for their visas as early as possible, but no later than three months before they wish to enter the United States. Please note that a visa does not guarantee entry into the United States! Individuals may request a letter of invitation by email at registration@americansecuritization.com. The following must be included in your request:

  • Full name as it appears on your passport
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Complete mailing address
  • Passport number and country of issue
  • Phone Number
  • Fax Number

Requests may take up to 5 business days to process. Management is not able to contact US Embassies in support of an individual attempting to gain entry into the host country to attend ASF 2013. For detailed information about applying for a visa, refer to the Department of State Website.
