Christopher Aldous

After reading Business Studies and French at De Montford University, Christopher Aldous first entered the world of wealth management when he joined Cazenove in 1981. He became a Director of Barclays de Zoete Wedd in 1987, managing large institutional accounts and worked in London, Paris and Sydney before joining UBS as an Executive Director in 1993. In 1998, he joined Robertson Stephens as a Managing Director where he established and ran their European equity sales and research department. In 2001, he broke away from the mainstream and co-founded Absolute Fund Management where he was Chief Executive, whilst also managing a low volatility fund of hedge funds designed for high net worth, family office and charity investors.

John Baron has used investment trusts in both a private and professional capacity for over 30 years. On leaving the army, he entered the City as a fund manager running a range of portfolios for private clients and charities. He was a Director of Henderson Private Clients and then a Director of Rothschild Asset Management, having been approached to run their private client core UK equity portfolio. He is best known to readers of Investors Chronicle magazine for having successfully run two live investment trust portfolios as measured by their appropriate benchmarks. He also speaks at investment seminars and has recently published a book - 'Financial Times Guide to Investment: Unlocking the City's Best Kept Secret'. On entering politics, Mr Baron has sat on the other side of the fence helping charities monitor their fund managers. He remains a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Colin’s entire working life has been spent helping people with their money. After ‘learning the ropes’ in high street banks and building societies, Colin moved to the regulated environment of financial advice. He founded Kingsfleet Wealth, Chartered Financial Planners, in 2010; naming the business after his primary school. As well as providing independent financial advice, the business aims to support and encourage education wherever possible, and has just founded its own community charitable trust. Colin is a Chartered Financial Planner and one of only 30 Financial Planners to have achieved a Masters Degree in Financial Planning. Colin is a fellow of both the Personal Finance Society and the Institute of Financial Planning.
 
William Meadon

William Meadon, managing director, is head of the Core team in the J.P. Morgan Asset Management European Equity Group. An employee since 1996, William was previously head of UK specialist pension funds at Newton Investment Management Ltd, responsible for pension funds and the Newton Higher Income Fund. Before this, he was a balanced pension fund manager, and manager of the Schroder Income Fund, with Schroder Investment Management. Prior to Schroders, William was articled to Peat Marwick (now part of KPMG). William obtained a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Nottingham and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
