about HOW Design Live

HOW Design Live is the biggest annual gathering of creative professionals, anywhere. The 2014 event, May 12 – 16 in Boston, is your chance to explore the biggest ideas, meet your design heroes, and learn from the smartest minds—all in one five-day design extravaganza.

You’ll learn from innovative thinkers like Malcolm Gladwell, Seth Godin, Stefan Sagmeister, Maria Popova and others for inspiring keynotes, hands-on workshops and nuts-and-bolts sessions. You’ll also find unrivaled networking opportunities, from Breakfast Roundtables to the Portfolio Review and the legendary Closing Party. Along the way, you’ll find yourself a part of the welcoming design community that makes HOW Design Live the career-boosting, creativity-expanding and even life-changing experience it is.

HOW Design Conference

With sessions covering everything from technology to creativity to your career, HOW Design Conference gives you the tools to become a better, more successful designer.

The Dieline Conference

At The Dieline Conference, you’ll discover how to elevate your role as a package designer to become a trusted branding partner.

In-House Management Conference

Learn to build your creative team, inspire them to do their best work, and sell that work up the corporate ladder—all while making valuable connections with other in-house managers.

Creative Freelancer Business Conference

Get in-depth, concrete information on marketing and pricing, attracting and keeping new clients, managing your money, and making plans for long-term growth.

And, new this year: HOW Leadership Conference

Hear big ideas about leadership from major thinkers from a wide variety of industries so that you can move yourself and your organization to the next level.

Your Big Ticket gets you an all-access pass to any session, any workshop and any networking event at any of the five conferences, plus hand-outs, video session recordings and MP3 recordings of most sessions so that you can relive and share nearly all HOW Design Live content after you get back to the office. If you can’t spend five days with us, choose a one- or two-day registration and attend any event you wish during that time period. Whatever registration option you choose, you’ll design a completely customized conference experience that gives you exactly what you need.

HOW2 Training

Future Media Concepts, a widely recognized leader in software training, will be co-locating their HOW2 Training Conference of intensive and technical software instruction with HOW Design Live, May 12 - 14.

HOW2 Training will equip you with the “know how” for maximizing your Adobe design toolset so you can bring your ideas to life and produce your best work. You’ll learn directly from master trainers and accomplished designers like Ian Robinson, Lesa Snider, Rich Harrington, Nigel French, Luisa Winters, Mordy Golding, Katherine Houghton and Jay Nelson!
