WLI Certificate Program

If interested in pursuing a certificate of completion for the Womanist Leadership Institute online course program, participants must complete three (3) core courses and three (3) elective courses. The program will be on-going, with electives varying year to year, allowing participants to complete the requirements within an extended period as needed. Courses are open to all, and an application is not necessary. Interested participants will simply register for the courses.

The three core courses of the Womanist Leadership Institute (WLI) include:

Womanist Theology: A Primer (current offering, February 13-March 19, 2024)

Models of Womanist Leadership

Womanist Biblical Interpretation

Introduction to Africana Religions

Global Womanisms and Perspectives: Inventing Women and Subverting Gender in the African Public Sphere

Participants may take individual WLI courses without pursuing a certificate of completion for the full program. Certificates of completion are also awarded for individual courses when course requirements are met. A certificate of completion is also awarded at the completion of the Womanist Leadership Institute program. As these courses are for continuing education, grades and degree credits are not awarded within the program.
