ECB16 Social Programme

Edinburgh is a city rich in history and culture, and as such the Local Organising Comittee put together a social programme that gave delegates access to the very best experiences of food, drink, heritage and architecture.

Welcome Reception (sponsored by Scottish Enterprise)

The welcome reception was the first taste of Scotland, featuring locally sourced food and traditional Scottish fayre and took place at the Edinburgh International Convention Centre at 19:00.  It was free for delegates to attend.




Gala Evening

19.30. Tuesday 15 July 2014 (Royal Botanical Gardens)

Delegates were invited to enjoy an evening of the best of Scotland’s food, drink and entertainment at this informal dinner.Mouth-watering Scottish dishes with a modern twist were served, and a wide variety of single malts and blends of whisky were available from the well-stocked bar. Attendees made the most of their congress experience by networking and celebrating with fellow guests at the ECB16 Gala Evening.

Price: £70 per person, including dinner, and a half-bottle of wine and tax.

Description:

The Historic Walking Tour of Edinburgh took guests through the streets of the Old Town up to Edinburgh Castle, down through the Grassmarket to Holyrood Palace. Knowledgeable and entertaining guides brought the city's colourful history vividly to life as guests wandered down cobbled streets and narrow closes.

Tours for small groups of Congress delegates with private tour guide. Entrance to the Castle or Holyrood house is not included. This tour starts and ends on the Royal Mile.
