Symposium Information
The Symposium will be presented using a virtual platform. A dedicated link will be sent to pre-registered individuals allowing them to log-in on August 20th. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Once capacity is reached, we will not be able to add additional spaces. Each participant should select the two concurrent sessions they wish to attend during the registration process. Handout material will be available electronically and the link to those will go out with the final email shortly before the Symposium.

Note: In order to meet continuing education requirements attendees will be tracked throughout the day including pre-selected concurrent sessions using software capabilities.

Symposium Objectives
  • Describe the medical, economic, and societal burden of falls in older adults.
  • Identify evidence-based interventions that reduce the risk of falling in older adults and how these interventions can be implemented.
  • Identify resources available to help healthcare providers recognize and treat fall risks in older adults.
  • Describe risk factors associated with falls in older adults and what interventions are available to address them.
  • Describe strategies on how to implement screening for older adult falls into their clinical practice or out in the community.

Registration Fee
The Symposium is supported by a grant from the Ohio Department of Health which will allow us to offer the program on a non-fee basis.
