Online Workshop Agenda Description

This 4-part course is designed for church leaders—from pastors to communications managers—to learn to navigate the complexities of digital church communication more easily and effectively.

Touching on a range of important and practical topics, this course includes the four live lessons (along with their recordings), a take-home communications roadmap, and office hours with Christen Kinard of Digital Congregations for specific questions and concerns.

How to Be a Hybrid Church

You began streaming your service back in 2020. Now it is time to reflect on and possibly revise what you are doing and how in preparation for the existence of in-pew and at-home congregations.

In this 75-minute session, we will review:

- best streaming practices and the tools you will need

- what to anticipate in a post-pandemic transition to split congregations

- how to honor both congregations equally in worship

Social Marketing or Social Ministry?

Your social media channels are for more than just informing your congregants of what is going on and inviting them to join you. They can be more than just a support to your ministry; they can be the focus of ministry. Discover how to use social media as a tool for building community, discipleship and outreach.

In this 75-minute session, we will review:

- the major misconceptions and myths about social media

- how to get social media algorithms to work for you and not against you

- creative ways to use social media for ministry

How to Increase Online Giving

The ways and reasons we give are changing. If your messaging about giving and the tools you offer your members have stayed the same, you have some catching up to do!

In this 75-minute session, we will review:

- specific action items to increase online giving

- which online giving tools are most effective

- how to better communicate your church's needs

Your website is now your front door. It is the first impression you make and it is likely not as welcoming and inviting as you think. Learn what visitors and congregants alike need from your website and how best to meet those needs.

In this 75-minute session, we will review:

- the questions your homepage should answer and in which order

- one participating church website to assess wins and identify gaps

- an introduction to search engine optimization
