Workshop Information

This online workshop, led by experienced musician and music director, Doug Brown, is designed to be practical and interactive. Participants will gain experience in creating a virtual choir, including tips for selecting a vocal arrangement, instructing vocalists to perform on their own electronic devices, and editing the separate performances into a virtual choir. In addition, workshop participants will have the opportunity to sing and submit their performances as part of a joint effort in producing a choral project together, creating a virtual choir resource that participants can use on Easter Sunday in their own churches. The video resource will be edited by the instructor and provided to workshop participants for use in various settings, if desired.

Please note: The instructor will be utilizing a MAC computer to present around GarageBand and iMovie. Knowledge and instruction for PC users may be limited.

The workshop will use Zoom technology to meet online. Each registered participant will receive the meeting link prior to the first workshop. The same link will be used for both sessions. The workshop will meet on two consecutive Tuesdays, March 2 and March 9, from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. EST. Participants will need an electronic device equipped with a reliable internet connection, built-in or external microphone, and a built-in or external webcam.

Once the event reaches capacity, a waiting list will be started.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION FEES:

Early Individual Registration (ends February 21): $50

Standard Individual Registration (begins February 22): $65

*GROUP REGISTRATION FEES (for one church/organization, with 2-3 participants):

Early Group Registration (ends February 21): $85

Standard Group Registration (begins February 22): $100

 

*A group consists of individuals representing the same church/organization. For a group registration, one person will register for the entire group, so that person will need to be prepared to fill in attendee information of name, address, email, etc., for each additional attendee of the group when registering.
