Robin Wu, Principal Analyst, Omdia

Mr. Robin Wu is a Principal Analyst within the IHS Technology group. He joined IHS in November 2014, when IHS acquired DisplaySearch, a leader in primary research and forecasting on the global display market. At DisplaySearch, he served as a PC and TFT analyst, specializing in trend analysis of China's PC, monitor, and panel markets. He also acted as vice chair of the VESA monitor task group in 2010 and has focused on monitor/panel standardization since early 2009.

Prior to DisplaySearch, Mr. Wu spent nearly seven years at the leading IT brand IBM/Lenovo. There, he focused on monitor/TFT business, delivering industry-leading green ThinkVision products and managing panel sourcing and qualifications. In addition to providing support to the desktop/AIO business, he acted as a liaison in the industry, building strong relationships with leading PC monitor OEMs in China. Mr. Wu has a bachelor's degree in Mechanics & Electronics and a master's degree in Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.

David Hsieh, Senior Director, Omdia

David Hsieh is a noted expert in research and analysis of the TFT LCD, and LCD TV value chain for Mainland China and Taiwan. As head of the Displays team, he oversees the division’s end-to-end research on displays, covering the supply chain, materials and components, supply-and-demand dynamics, pricing and cost modeling, revenue and shipment forecasts, and emerging technologies.

In an earlier stint at DisplaySearch, he led the company’s primary research and forecasting on the global display market while concurrently serving as vice president of the greater China market. David also worked at HannStar Display, a leading manufacturer of TFT LCD panels, as a key account manager, production planner, and production engineer for the HannStar TFT LCD module line.

David belongs to a distinguished circle of only 11 Technology Fellows named by IHS Markit during his time at the company, an honor that recognizes his deep expertise and exceptional standing within the analyst community.

He is a graduate of Chung-Yuan Christian University in Taiwan, and has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.

Joy Guo, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Joy Guo covers small- and medium-sized displays under 9 inches in size utilized in smartphones, tablets, wearables, and automotive displays. Her research touches areas such as the AMOLED ecosystem, new trends in smartphone panel displays, and the supply chain in China for smartphone displays.

Joy brings 15 years’ worth of experience to the subjects she covers. She worked previously at BOE, the giant Chinese display manufacturer, as a product manager for medical and industrial displays.

She started her career at Tianma Group in 2003 as an LCD module design engineer at the R&D center, later advancing to become manager of product design and development. She then transferred to the marketing department, taking on the new role of analyst for mobile phone displays first, and then for automotive displays eventually.

Joy has a bachelor degree in automation from Beihang University, previously the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronomics, a major public research institution in China. She also holds a master’s degree in business management from Renmin University of China.

Kimi Lin, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Kimi Lin is a Senior Analyst for Touch Technologies in the IHS Technology group. Based in China, Kimi joined IHS in September 2016, focusing on touch panels and China’s small/medium display markets. Prior to joining IHS, Kimi was a Senior Analyst at Tianma Group, where he spent over 2 years in LCD and AMOLED Market Research. He also oversaw the China FPD industry market at the Topology Research Institute for over 5 years. Kimi has a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering and a Master’s degree in Microelectronics from Shanghai University, China.
 
Peter Su, Principal Analyst, Omdia

Peter Su conducts research on large-sized displays, tracking supply-and-demand dynamics, market trends, and product roadmaps on panels sized more than 9 inches measured diagonally and used in tablets, notebooks, monitors, and televisions.

Previously, Peter was at DisplaySearch, where he worked with large displays as well. At AU Optronics, he was in panel sales and strategic product marketing in the notebook PC and tablet business units. There, he was also involved in PC capacity planning, technology investment projects, and both upstream and downstream channels for panels and mobile PCs. Peter has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Victoria in Canada, and a master’s degree in business administration from Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon, Wisconsin.
 
Chase Li, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Prior to working at Omdia (formerly IHS Markit), Chase Li spent four years at TCL, the world's third largest TV maker, working as a senior engineer in the Display Research department, where he was responsible for the development of novel technology with potential uses in the display industry, such as printed OLED and quantum dot.
 
He holds a master’s degree in material science and engineering from the University of North Texas, United States, and a bachelor’s degree in polymer science and engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’An, ShanXi, China. He is currently based in Guangdong, China.
 
Nick Jiang, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Nick Jiang is responsible for the research and analysis of the large area TFT-LCD panel industry and market at Omdia (formerly IHS Markit). Nick specializes in the Chinese display market. He analyzes the supply chain of Chinese TV panel makers, panel demand from TV brands, and pricing trends, and forecasts the TV panel market in China.
 
Based in Shenzhen, China, Nick maintains communications with local Chinese TV brands and LCD fabs, following the industry growth and changes. Prior to joining Omdia in 2010, he worked for LG Display as a product strategy planner in China. He also spent some time with a local China television manufacturer, studying products suitable for the Chinese market. Nick received a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from Jilin University of China.
 
Linda Lin, Principal Analyst, Omdia

Linda Lin covers large-sized TFT LCD panels and is in charge of survey reports involving the manufacturers and vendors of the notebook panel supply chain.

With her many years of working in the trade, Linda has developed first-rate relationships throughout the extensive network of contacts and connections in the display industry that she built over time.

Linda worked previously at LCD market research firm WitsView, leading the research on panels as well as on downstream products that included monitors and TVs. At the Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute, Taiwan Chief Information and Communications Technology (ICT) market research group, she oversaw regional research for South and East Asia. It was during this time that she decided to make large-sized displays her main focus. Linda has a master’s degree in business administration from National Yunlin University of Science and Technology in Taiwan.
 
Deborah Yang, Director, Omdia

Deborah Yang is a director at Omdia. Previously she was with DisplaySearch, a leader in primary research and forecasting in the global display market. At DisplaySearch, she worked as director of Taiwan and China display market research.

Prior to DisplaySearch, Deborah spent more than 10 years at Royal Phillips Electronics. There, she held the position of business intelligence manager in the flat panel purchasing department of the Philips CE Business Group. Before this position, she worked in the displays project management group where, as a project leader, she developed and formulated supply know-how for LCD monitors and televisions.

Deborah received an award for her role as senior market analyst at Philips and was a nominee for the Royal Philips Electronics PD PBE Best Practice Award. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Preston University, Wyoming, United States, and a bachelor's degree in economics from SooChow University, Taiwan.

Calvin Hsieh, Director, Omdia

Calvin Hsieh is a Director within Omdia, a leader in primary research and forecasting on the touch panel and emerging user interface market. In an earlier stint at DisplaySearch, he served as research director. He has more than a decade of experience crafting strategies and managing product lines at leading display organizations across the globe. Prior to DisplaySearch, he was the product marketing director at Proview Electronics, one of the world's largest LCD monitor and TV manufacturers. Before DisplaySearch, he experienced as a project team manager at HannSpree, marketing director on e-commerce, and software developer on image processing and multimedia. Mr. Hsieh has a master's degree with a focus on human-computer interaction and user interface from National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan.

Bing Zhang, Director, Omdia

Bing Zhang is a research and analysis director for TV, consumer electronics and devices within the Omdia (formerly IHS) Technology group.

Bing joined Omdia in November 2014, after the company acquired DisplaySearch, a leader in primary research and forecasting on the global display market. At DisplaySearch, he served as director of China market research. His research focused on the Chinese TV market, particularly flat panel displays. He has strong ties to TV manufacturers across the globe and is very familiar with the Chinese TV market and its development. Before joining DisplaySearch, he spent five years at leading TV and mobile phone maker Konka in sales channel management, marketing research and supply chain management. Bing has degrees in polymer science, engineering and business administration from Sichuan University, China.

Cindy Liu, Principal Analyst, Omdia

Cindy Liu is principal research analyst for digital signage on the Specialty Displays team at Omdia.

She focuses on the Chinese market and brand research for digital signage. Cindy joined Omdia in 2017 having spent 11 years at the leading electronic and home appliance maker, Haier, working in project management, sales channel management and supply chain management.

She has degrees in English from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
 
Zaker Li, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Zaker Li is the senior analyst of smartphone and mobile. He is responsible for mobile devices, networks research in China, covering mobile handset shipment, production, technology trends and company strategies. Zaker was senior analyst of TV industry in China before he joined IHS. He has worked in TCL Multimedia for 4 years, which is the third largest TV maker in the world. Zaker graduated from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) and has a Master degree in Public Administration Management. He speaks Chinese and English, Zaker based in Shenzhen China.
 
Jay Shao, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Jay Shao covers market research on AMOLED panel display technology.
 
 
Before joining the company, Jay was at EverDisplay Optronics—also known as Hehui Optoelectronics—in Shanghai, where he worked for six years in OLED R&D, flexible display design, and new products. He holds a doctorate in material science from the South China University of Technology in Guangdong, China.

Stacy Wu, Principal Analyst, Omdia

Stacy Wu is responsible for mobile and emerging display research at Omdia with a primary focus on automotive and industrial displays. Stacey has more than 10 years of experience in conducting market research and consultancy on the display technology markets. Prior to her role, Stacey was the senior analyst for large area display research and had built solid and comprehensive display industry connections and networks. Before joining Omdia, Stacey was the section manager of market intelligence in Delta Electronic's corporate marketing team and a market analyst in Philip Multi Media Display. She holds MSc in International Marketing from University of Strathclyde and Bachelor of Business Administration from National Cheng-chi University.
 
Vicki Chen, Senior Analyst, Omdia

Vicki Chen focuses on display materials and components, including new form factors, weight efficiencies, and technological advances in displays. She joined the company in 2018, bringing more than 10 years of experience in the flat-panel-display industry.
 
Vicki worked previously at Chinese firm Sigmaintell Consulting, where she was responsible for research on the mobile phone panel market and value chain. She also worked in new-project development at Taiwan Display, a part of Japan Display. She had her first taste of the flat-panel display industry and its workings as a product planning engineer in charge of the request-for-quote (RFQ) development for mobile phone products for China Brands at Innolux, a TFT LCD panel manufacturer in Taiwan.
 
Vicki has an undergraduate degree from Nanchang Hangkong University, also known as Nanchang Aviation University, in China.
