Dress Guide for the Grand Hotel
Since Grand Hotel is a resort, we want all guests to feel at ease and dress comfortably. During the day, casual resort clothing is appropriate. Prior to 6:30pm please no midriff baring tops, sweatpants or cut-off shorts for ladies. For gentleman no sleeveless shirts, sweatpants, or cut-off shorts.
Every evening at Grand Hotel is a special occasion. After 6:30pm dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentleman are required to wear a suit coat, necktie and dress pants, no denim or shorts. This applies for all areas inside the hotel with the exception of the Cupola Bar. Children 12 years and older are expected to follow the same dress code as adults.
Tipping
Within the Grand Hotel, tipping is neither expected or permitted. At venues outside of the hotel itself, such as the Jockey Club, tipping is in the normal fashion- at the discretion of the guest.
Hotel Room Rate
This a stunning facility built in 1887 has 397
rooms and no two are alike. The room rate is $348.00 per room (plus taxes &
fee) for a house choice room. If you want something special for your selves you
will have to work it out with the hotel directly.
How to Register
Then you must mail, fax or email the attached registration form to book your room (groupforms@grandhotel.com). The hotel does not accept call-in reservations for groups such as ours. Reserve early, rooms book quickly at this premier hotel.
FERRY SERVICE TO THE ISLAND
Shepler’s Mackinac Ferry will offe r round trip ticket for adults & children. St. Ignace and Mackinaw City locations both offer parking for a nightly fee of $5.00 for off-site parking and $25.00 for dockside parking. Off-site parking is very convenient and operates much like airport transportation. The ferry ride is approximately 16 minutes. HORSE DRAWN SHUTTLE SERVICE
With every ferry that pulls into the harbor is
a hotel shuttle that transports guests & luggage to the resort. This service is approximately $6, per person, and cash is
paid directly to the driver. For airport transfers or other special
