Key Biscayne
A trip to the Miami area isn't complete without a stop in Key Biscayne, just a short, gorgeous drive over the Rickenbacker Causeway from the big city. Key Biscayne also offers a nearby coastal barrier reef and the only federally recognized underwater archaeological trail in the United States.
Key Biscayne sees average temperatures of 74 to 87 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. Summertime is filled with an abundance of activities in Key Biscayne, including golf at the 18-hole championship Crandon Golf course, various museums, Botanical Garden, shopping, catamaran tours and exciting ecoadventures. With just a 20-minute drive to downtown Miami, there is endless fun for the entire family.

Crandon Park Beach $Crandon Park is a local favorite spot, made up of a beach, tennis center, golf course and nature center all-in-one. Located on the northern part of Key Biscayne, the public park occupies over 800 acres of the island. Getting to Crandon Park is easy: Cross the Rickenbacker Causeway from the mainland, drive through Virginia Key and pass the famous Miami Seaquarium. Get there early, as there is plenty to do. Plan on spending a long day enjoying the many amenities in the sun at Crandon Park. |

Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park $
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Recreation Area occupies approximately the Southern third of the island of Key Biscayne. This park includes the Cape Florida Light, the oldest standing structure in Greater Miami. The Cape Florida Light is a lighthouse on Cape Florida at the South end of Key Biscayne in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Constructed in 1825, it guided mariners off the Florida Reef, which starts near Key Biscayne and extends southward a few miles offshore of the Florida Keys.
