Erica Charves

Erica “Aisha” Charves is a self-motivated leader focused on communication, project planning, media, journalism, facilitative-leadership, research and gender issues. She has a passion for event planning, outreach and collaborating on projects. Her degree in Community Development and experience in leadership give her a love of community programs, particularly those which benefit women, children and families. She also holds a minor degree in the Arabic Language from Portland State University, and is familiar with Egyptian and Gulf dialects. She spent her first year in the UAE engaged in cultural research focused on Emirati Women’s Leadership through a Fulbright Fellowship. Erica has 8 years of experience in Emergency Medicine and emergency mental health care in Contra Costa County, California and Portland, Oregon. Her event scope has ranged from lecture series, theater production, cultural events, IRB research and medically/pharmaceutically focused conferences here in the UAE.
