San Francisco International Airport (SFO) www.flysfo.com lies just 14 miles south of downtown San Francisco and the location of the Combustion Symposium at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero. The approximate transport time from SFO to downtown San Francisco ranges between 20-30 minutes depending on the time of day and mode of transportation.  Oakland International Airport (OAK) http://www.flyoakland.com/ is 19 miles from the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, with a transport time of approximately 30 minutes.  San Jose International Airport (SJC) http://www.flysanjose.com/fl/  is 48 miles from the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, with a transport time of approximately 60 minutes.

Bay Area Rapid Transit is the fast, convenient and inexpensive way to get from either the San Francisco or Oakland airports to the Symposium or to conference hotels. The 103-mile BART system links eight San Francisco stations with San Francisco International Airport to the south and 29 stations in Oakland and the East Bay. Trains operate seven days a week from 04:00 to 24:00 weekdays, 06:00 to 24:00 Saturdays, and 08:00 to 24:00 on Sundays. Farecards may be purchased at all BART stations using credit cards or cash.
Taxi 
Taxi service is available from SFO to downtown. Approximate fare to a downtown destination is $30-50. Taxis may add a $2.00 pass-through fee to all airport fares leaving SFO. Voluntary ride sharing for two or more persons with a maximum of three destinations is permitted. 


Car Rentals
There is a Budget car rental office located in the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero (conference hotel) lobby.

Auto rentals are available at the SFO, OAK, and SJC airports from many different companies. 

San Francisco Municipal Railway  http://www.sfmta.com/  
The Muni Metro F Line runs along the wharfs and down Market Street, with a fare of $2 per route. See the attached map for stops. The Muni operates underground downtown and on the streets in the outer neighborhoods. Five lines are involved: J (Church), K (Ingleside), L (Taraval), M (Ocean), and N (Judah). Historic streetcars (F-line) operate along Market Street beginning in the Castro District and terminating at Fisherman's Wharf.

One line of San Francisco’s historic cable car system runs right in front of the meeting site at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero, making it convenient to visit multiple locations around the city. Cable cars operate along three routes: the Powell-Hyde line which begins at Powell and Market Streets and terminates at Victorian Park near the Maritime Museum and Aquatic Park; the Powell-Mason line which also begins at Powell and Market but terminates at Bay Street just three blocks from Fisherman's Wharf; and the California Street line which runs from the foot of Market Street to Van Ness Avenue. The regular cable car fare is $6.

Ferries depart from several points around San Francisco and go to the following destinations: Alameda, Larkspur, Oakland (Jack London Square), Sausalito, Tiburon and Vallejo. Ferry service also operates between San Francisco and Alcatraz and Angel Islands.
