Senior Partner and Managing Director and Global People Chair, BCG

Matt is BCG's Global People Chair and oversees BCG's overall people and HR agenda. He is a member of BCG's Executive Committee. In his role as the Global People Chair, Matt leads BCG People Operating Model and strategy, including diversity and inclusion.

Prior to the Global People Chair, Matt was an Office and System Leader and has held many other BCG leadership roles. Matt has authored several pieces looking at Gender, Diversity and has led a TED workshop on gender and engagement. Matt sits on the board of advisors of Catalyst—a leader in inclusion and diversity in the workplace.

Matt is also a Senior Partner and member of the People & Organization practice areas. He has a broad base of experience in working with CEOs and Senior Management teams on critical issues.
 
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Frances Taplett
Global People Senior Director, BCG

Frances leads BCG’s Global People Team, serving the Global People Chair across BCG's four regions. As part of this remit, she has overall accountability for Women@BCG, including creating the core strategy and overseeing execution for Women@BCG and People Teaming Open & Communications (PTO). She develops priorities for BCG’s future HR strategy including diversity, the People Operating Model, strategic placements.

Frances has co-authored several pieces looking at Gender, Diversity and has led a TED workshop on gender and engagement. Frances' client work covers a wide range of topics such as developing diversity and inclusion strategies and empowering women in the workplace; improving support and retention of an evolving talent pool; and organizational design, change management and data and metrics.

Ted Acosta
Americas Vice Chair, EY

Ted is a senior executive with over 25 years of professional services experience. He began his career as a practicing white-collar and regulatory attorney both in private practice and with the US Federal government. He has spent the last 17 years at EY where he focused on assisting clients with internal investigations and compliance program structures for US regulatory obligations, as well as foreign standards. In that role, Ted served many public and private Fortune 500 companies on matters in over 50 countries, working significantly on the ground and with C-suites.

In 2014, Ted was named Vice Chair of Risk for EY's Americas and US firms and appointed to their management boards. He leads the Risk Management organization, which covers internal risk assessments, compliance, ethics, privacy and independence, as well enterprise risk management, and client and engagement acceptance, among others. Ted also chairs EY Americas’ ethics board and sits on EY’s Global Risk Management Executive Committee and the Global Practice Group. In addition, Ted continues to serve a select number of clients. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Latino Donor Collaborative.
 
Natalia Caroprese
Senior Litigation Counsel, Uber (Colombia)

Graduated from Javeriana Law School and was admitted to practice law in Colombia in 2004. In the same year she received a public award granted by the Ministry of National Education for having obtained one of the top-ten best law grades in the High Education Quality Test, ECAES.
In addition, Natalia studied a master of economic law at the same university, and obtained an LLM in Commercial Law from Erasmus Law School, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 2012. Currently she works at Uber Colombia SAS, as a Sr. Litigation Counsel for the Andean Region. Prior to her entrance to Uber, she worked at Lloreda Camacho & Co., Baker & McKenzie Colombia S.A. and the Ministry of Government and Justice.

Jill Granat
General Counsel, Restaurant Brands International

Jill Granat is General Counsel for Restaurant Brands International. She also serves as the Company’s corporate secretary and chief compliance officer. In her role as general counsel and corporate secretary, Granat is responsible for BKC’s global legal and corporate governance affairs. As chief compliance officer, she manages the Company’s worldwide ethics and compliance program. She reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Burger King Corporation. Granat also serves as President of the BURGER KING McLamore Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the BURGER KING system.

Granat joined BKC in 1998 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility within the legal department. Prior to joining BKC, Granat was an associate attorney at Zuckerman Spader Taylor & Evans law firm in Miami, Fla.

Granat holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management from Florida International University.

Cross border transactions and knowledge in a wide variety of practice areas, Banking and Finance, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Wealth Management. Holds a JD Equivalent from Universidad Iberoamericana from Mexico City and an LLM by Columbia University. Active member of the recently created Diversity and Inclusion committee at Creel who is the first Mexican firm to officially promote D+I initiatives.
 
Mark Lopez
General Counsel, Cisneros Corp.

Mark A. Lopez serves as the General Counsel of Cisneros Corp. In his role as General Counsel, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Cisneros’s worldwide legal affairs – including litigation, corporate, labor and intellectual property matters.
Before Cisneros Corp., Mark was a Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig – an international law firm with approximately 2,000 attorneys and over 35 offices around the world. Mark joined Greenberg Traurig in 2001 and was a member of its Latin American and Iberian Practice Group, which focuses on complex cross-border transactions. During his 17 years with Greenberg Traurig, Mark specialized in advising multinational clients in connection with cross-border corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate financings.
Mark also has experience in the private banking industry, having completed a secondment with the private banking branch of a major international bank where he served as Interim Director of Compliance.
Mark, a native of Miami, received his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 2001 and his B.A. degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1998.
 
Raquel Matas
Associate Dean, University of Miami

Raquel M. Matas is the Associate Dean for Administration and Counsel to the Dean at the University of Miami School of Law. She is also Acting Director of the Robert TraurigGreenberg Traurig Real Property Development LL.M. Additionally, Ms. Matas serves as strategic business leader for MiamiLex, an alliance between the University of Miami School of Law and UnitedLex, one of the largest global providers of legal support services and solutions for law firms. Previously, she was a partner in the law firms of Ferrell Worldwide and Carlton Fields, where she practiced commercial real estate law and business transactions.

In addition to her administrative duties, Ms. Matas often teaches or co-teaches with members of the Law School faculty. She has co-taught the Real Estate Documents Drafting Workshop, a course in the Real Property Development LL.M., and has taught modules in first year Property, on The Real Estate Transaction and Underwater Mortgages. She also co-developed and has taught Mindfulness and Leadership with Professor Scott Rogers, and a series on Marriage Equality with Professor Charlton Copeland.

Ms. Matas is an active community leader. She served for over two decades as member of the Board of Directors of TotalBank, one of South Florida’s largest community banks, and chaired several committees including the Risk Committee, which oversees corporate risk governance and risk management processes. She is a member of the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), and served for four terms as national Chair of its LGBT Division. She also served on the HNBA’s Executive Committee as General Counsel and as Vice-President of External Affairs.
 
Ana Siegel
General Counsel, Telemundo

Ana Salas Siegel serves as SVP and General Counsel for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises and oversees all legal resources, including the division’s Business & Legal Affairs team. As a key member of the senior leadership team, she is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the legal department, and supervising all legal and business affairs issues impacting the group. In addition to overseeing strategic and complex commercial agreements, Salas Siegel works closely with NBCUniversal’s corporate legal resources on transactional, litigation and employment law, as well as intellectual property, labor relations and compliance matters.

Salas Siegel has been in the media and entertainment industry for almost 20 years. Previously, Salas Siegel worked at Fox Latin America Channels for 12 years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs. In that role she was responsible for all legal matters relating to their pay TV channels, and production and sports facilities in Latin America, in addition to managing and developing the legal department. During her tenure, she also served as Senior Vice President & Deputy General Counsel for Fox International Channels. Prior to that Salas Siegel served for four years as the Director of Business & Legal Affairs at Universal Studios Networks Latin America Inc.
