Luis Carlos Rodrigo is the managing partner of the firm. He advises mining and natural resources companies on project financing, M&A transactions and on the negotiation of legal stability agreements. He also provides corporate and commercial advice based on his comprehensive global understanding of corporate, mining and tax law.

He is a member of the board of major mining and insurance companies, as well as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Canada Peru Chamber of Commerce where he was also president (2007-2012), deputy chair (2000 to 2007) and member of the board (1997 - 2012). In 2011 he was granted the Gold Medallion by the Governor General of Canada. He serves in the IBA’s Energy, Infrastructure, Natural Resources and Environmental Committee and in the Latin American Regional Forum.

He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (1989) and an LL.M from Yale University (1993).
 
Fernando Molina

Fernando Molina advises companies and sponsors, as well as financial and multilateral entities on the financing of infrastructure and energy projects. He further assists clients with M&A transactions, with special focus on projects and the design and implementation of corporate and structure financing. He participates in public and private securities offerings and in tender offers regulated by the Peruvian securities law.

He was an associate in the Banking & Restructuring Group of Clifford Chance in Washington DC for 3 years where he participated in Banking & Finance and M&A transactions in Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, USA, Philippines, Turkey, Russia and several countries of Central America. In 2006 he was seconded to the Infrastructure group of General Electric & Co. in Stamford, Connecticut.

Fernando Molina holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (1998) and an LL.M. from Columbia University (2005). He is qualified to practice law both in New York and in Peru.

José Reaño heads the Criminal Litigation and Corporate Compliance practice groups. He has extensive experience handling complex white-collar criminal matters for corporate clients. He acts for clients in court proceedings in business crime cases such as tax evasion, insider trading, money laundering, misappropriation and corporate fraud. He advises on criminal compliance programs, internal investigations, anticorruption regulations and criminal risk prevention strategies.

He holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (2001) and completed doctoral studies in Criminal Law and Criminal Science at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra (2004).

He also represents clients in criminal litigation proceedings linked to business and procurement.

Before joining Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano Abogados José Luis was an officer at the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights as well as the principal advisor at the Comisión de Alto Nivel Anticorrupción (CAN) – Special Governmental Anticorruption Body.

He holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa (2005), a master's degree in Criminal Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and completed doctoral studies in Criminal Law at the Universidad de Sevilla.

Álvaro Carreño is a Senior Associate at Carey and a member of the firm’s Compliance and Anti-Corruption Group. His practice focuses on all areas of criminal law, in particular, in complex litigation of white collar crimes, anti-corruption, money laundering, fraud, industrial and intellectual property crimes, criminal liability claims related to negligence, conflict solving, crisis management and compliance matters regarding criminal responsibility of legal entities.
