Imagine you jump into an elevator with a key decision-maker. You’ve got a chance to tell a university Vice-Chancellor, a politician, or a business leader why your research matters… and quickly.
Now stop imagining and start pitching!
Universities Australia challenges early to mid-career researchers to talk up their research in a 1-2 minute video. The video should aim to get leaders from across the country to become champions for your work.
Three prizes are up for grabs:
The Vice-Chancellors’ Award
- $2,500 cash prize
- Return flights, accommodation and entry to the Universities Australia Higher Education conference.
- Presentation of the award at an awards ceremony during or attached to the conference.
- Opportunity to meet Vice-Chancellors and other senior university executives
- Exposure on the Universities Australia website
- Exposure through Universities Australia newsletters
The Delegates’ Choice Award
- $1,500 cash prize
- All shortlisted submissions are eligible for a free registration to the Universities Australia Higher Education conference, including the welcome reception and the conference dinner. Registration does not include entry to the breakfast address or national press club address luncheon.
- Exposure on the Universities Australia website
- Exposure through Universities Australia newsletters
The People’s Choice Award
- $500 cash prize
- Exposure on the Universities Australia website
- Exposure through Universities Australia newsletters
Videos will be shortlisted by a panel of Vice-Chancellors and then shown at Universities Australia’s annual Higher Education Conference for conference delegates to vote on.
The winner of the shortlisting process will receive the Vice-Chancellors’ Award. The Delegates’ Choice Award will be decided by delegates at the conference. And members of the Thinkable community will vote to decide the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
